The reagent is capable of releasing a dye on enzymatic hydrolysis by the action of lipase. Because of the released dye has a light absorption zone within the longer wavelength region, it is not substantially disturbed by colored matter contained within blood making it possible to obtain excellent operability and reproducibility in the measurement of lipase activity within blood.

A dye represented by a free acid of the formula, ##STR1## wherein A is ##STR2## in which Z is --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 OSO.sub.3 H or --CH.dbd.CH.sub.2. This dye is usable for dyeing cellulose fibers in brilliant red color with good fastness, particularly, too chlorine, light and perspiration-light and possesses level dyeing properties.

Novel substituted azobenzenesulfonamides are useful as agents for the treatment of both mature and immature liver fluke infections. The azobenzenesulfonamide is substituted on the benzene ring with halogen. The azo substituents are aromatic hdyrocarbons such as phenyl or naphthyl, aromatic heterocycles such as pyridine, triazole and quinoline, aliphatic heterocycles such as imidazoline and pyrimidine trione and aliphatic esters which in turn may be substituted with hydroxyl, amino, loweralkyl, carboxy, hydrazino, nitrile, or ureido. Compositions containing these compounds for the treatment of mature and immature liver fluke infections are also disclosed.
