    摘要: A magnetic recording medium comprising a nonmagnetic support and a magnetic layer provided thereon is disclosed. The magnetic layer comprises a magnetic recording element and a binder, wherein the magnetic recording element mainly comprises acicular gamma-Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 particles having an average porosity of not more than 5% by volume, a specific surface area of 24 to 30 m.sup.2 /g and the X-ray diffraction intensity at the face (210) to that at the face (311) of not more than 5%. The magnetic recording medium has improved electromagnetic conversion characteristics such as sensitivity and noise.

    摘要: A new film forming and drying composition of matter has been prepared comprising an emulsion containing thermoplastic polymeric resin, a solvent for said resin, an emulsifying agent and microdroplets of water containing TiO2 pigment particles, said composition capable of forming microvoids of air upon drying. In the dried film the TiO2 pigment particles are present in the microvoids in an amount of from 0.4% to 15% by volume of the total volume of the microvoids. The microvoids have a diameter of from 01. Mu to 1.0 Mu and a total microvoid volume of from 55% to 75% of the total volume of the dried film.
