A first opening/closing velocity is set in accordance with the set commanded value, a present opening of the throttle valve is read at each of second cycles shorter than the first predetermined cycles, the motor is rotated to open/close the throttle valve to follow a first predicted opening of the throttle valve until the opening of the throttle valve is smaller than the commanded value by a predetermined quantity, and the motor is caused to open/close the throttle valve to follow a second predicted opening of the throttle valve which is smaller than the first predicted opening of the throttle valve after the cycle when the opening of the throttle valve has been made smaller than the commanded value by a predetermined quantity. As a result, high-speed response of the throttle valve and prevention of overshoot can be realized.

At least two mutually redundant measurement quantities are detected which are compared to threshold values. A function of the control of the drive unit is activated or deactivated in dependence upon the ratio of at least one of the measurement quantities to at least one of the threshold values. Each measurement quantity is compared to at least one threshold value; signals, which characterize exceeding or dropping below the threshold value, are generated; and the function is activated or deactivated when a pregiven combination of these signals is present.

    摘要: A throttle system for a general-purpose engine, having an actuator (motor) connected to a throttle valve to open or close it so as to regulate amount of intake air. An output transmission mechanism constituted as a link mechanism or a gear mechanism is provided between the actuator and the throttle valve to transmit an output of the actuator to the throttle value such that an output of the mechanism relative to the output of the actuator when the throttle valve is fully closed, is smaller than that when the throttle value is not fully closed. With this, the system can finely open and close the throttle valve when its opening is small and can open and close it at high speed when its opening is large, while preventing throttle valve seizing.

    摘要: An throttle valve is controlled by using an electric actuator. A cover for covering one end side of the throttle valve shaft is attached to a side wall of a throttle body. A throttle position sensor unit and an electronic control module for controlling the throttle valve is attached to an inner face of the cover. The throttle position sensor and the electronic control module are contiguous to each other and connected at a position contiguous thereto. The cover is provided with a connector portion for external connection of the electronic control module. A group of lead frames constituting terminals of the connector portion are embedded in the cover. Power source is supplied to a motor via the connector portion for external connection, the electronic control module and intermediary connectors provided at the cover. Thereby, by simplifying the cover for protecting the throttle valve. The motor as a drive source and a power transmission apparatus, electric connection lines and connecting portions are integrally assembled. Thereby a motor driving type throttle apparatus can be integrated to an engine by inexpensive fabrication cost, in a compact and simple style and with high reliability.

    摘要: A fail-safe mechanism of an air induction control apparatus for automotive engines is provided which is designed to hold a throttle valve at a middle position when a valve actuator has failed to move the throttle valve. The fail-safe mechanism includes a middle position hold stopper, an opener lever connected to the throttle shaft, and a first and a second coil spring. The first coil spring works to exert a first spring pressure on the opener member in a first rotational direction in which the throttle valve is rotated from a fully opened position to the middle position. The first coil spring is urged at an end thereof into constant engagement with the middle position hold stopper to hold the opener member from rotating in a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction. The second coil spring has a first and a second end between which the opener member extends. The first end abuts against the middle position hold stopper. The second end abuts against the opener member so as to exert a second spring pressure on the opener member in the second rotational direction to nip the opener member between the second end of the second coil spring and the end of the first coil spring elastically through the first and second spring pressures, thereby holding the throttle valve at the middle position.
