摘要: A hydropower system has a channel and at least one water turbine. The channel has a flowing path, two side walls, and at least one turbine recess recessed in at least one of the side walls and having an opening communicating with the flowing path. The at least one water turbine is mounted in the at least one turbine recess and has a shaft, a blade wheel, and a generator. The blade wheel is mounted on and rotatable with the shaft and partially protrudes into the flowing path. The generator is connected to the shaft. The blade wheel may be propelled to rotate by flowing water flowing through the flowing path to drive the generator to generate power.

摘要: A system for processing a fluid by generating water vapor through forced compression and rotation in a vessel includes capturing sea water for use in desalination processing in the vessel. Any fluid processed in the vessel, including sea water, can be used to create water vapor that rises to an elevation under its own power. After condensing the water vapor to liquid again, the condensed liquid falls upon a hydro-electric generator to generate electricity that is stored for later use. Brine output from the system can be recycled for re-processing through the system to increase water vapor yield. The wet brine output may also be dried to produce dried brine for subsequent processing of salt and other minerals.

摘要: A tidal current energy generating device includes an outer frame (1), at least one inner frame (2), at least two hydro turbines (3), at least one center shaft (4), at least one generator (5), and at least three bearings (6). The at least one inner frame (2) is separably disposed in the outer frame (1). At least two hydro turbines (3) are located below a water surface and are disposed in one inner frame (2). At least two hydro turbines (3) are disposed coaxially and are vertical-axis hydro turbines. At least one center shaft (4) is disposed through the at least two hydro turbines (3), the axis direction of the center shaft is perpendicular to the horizontal plane, and the center shaft (4) rotates along with the rotating of the hydro turbines (3). The at least one generator (5) is located above the water surface and connected with one end of the center shaft (4). The at least three bearings are sleeved on the center shaft (4) and are located on two sides of and between the two hydro turbines (3), respectively. The tidal current energy generating device can be modularly assembled and replaced above the water surface and can extend along the water depth direction, thereby improving the power generating efficiency.

摘要: A wave energy converter (1) has: a buoyant structure (2) which, in use, floats on water; a generator (18); a generator drive mechanism (38) on board the buoyant structure (2), the generator drive mechanism (38) having an rotational input drive shaft (20) and a rotational output drive shaft (36); a drive member (22) operably connected to the input drive shaft (20), the drive member (22) being moveable back and forth between a first position and a second position; a biasing arrangement (23, 26) for example a buoyant block acting on the drive member; and, a submerged element 4, 4′ which, in use, moves below the surface of the water out of phase with the buoyant structure (2), the drive member (22) being attached by a tether (28) to the submerged element (4). In use, when the buoyant structure (2) encounters a wave crest, the spacing between the buoyant structure (2) and the submerged element (4, 4′) increases and the drive member (22) is pulled towards the second position by the tether (28), and, when the buoyant structure (2) encounters a wave trough, the spacing between the buoyant structure (2) and the submerged element (4, 4′) decreases and the drive member (22) is urged towards the first position by the biasing arrangement (23, 26). The back and forth movement of the drive member (22) between the first and second positions causes the input drive shaft (20) to rotate and, thereby, causes the output drive shaft (36) to rotate. The submerged element (4, 4′) is preferably a heave plate. The invention also comprises a heave plate for a submerged, partly submerged or floating structure.

摘要: A floatable turbine (10) is described, which is movable on a substantially vertically oriented guide (20) so that the turbine (10) may move downwards along the guide (20) under gravitational force. The turbine equipment (10) is of negative buoyancy to facilitate it sinking, but is further provided with adjustable buoyancy means to allow the turbine arrangement to be imparted with a positive buoyancy when required. When imparted with a positive buoyancy the turbine equipment (10) floats back up the vertically oriented guide (20) under the buoyancy force. When moving down the guide (20) under gravity, and back up the guide (20) under buoyancy force an effective artificial current is generated by the movement through the turbine blades, turning the blades which in turn cause a generator to produce electricity, typically by suitable gearing.

摘要: The present invention provides improved methods, apparatus, and manufacture for an Archimedes Screw using a strake design as a blade to increase the volume of water raised or lowered by about 10%. The invention, in part, alters the shape of the blades within the screw from a helicoid shape to a strake shape. A helicoid blade in an Archimedes Screw has been used since antiquity and has not changed since then, limiting the efficiency and manufacturing process. The strake shape allows a greater quantity of water to be contained within the screw and is a developable surface that enables easier fabrication than the helicoid shape.
