    摘要： Portable apportioning apparatus, readily attachable to a meat grinder or stuffer or similar product dispensing mechanism, including a product flow tube having an inlet and an outlet and an internal stop; a housing, defining a closed cavity, rotatingly engaging the flow tube, the cavity in fluid communication with a first opening cut-out of the wall of the flow tube above the internal stop and a second opening cut-out of the wall of the flow tube below the internal stop; and a rotatable apportioning baffle engaging the walls of the housing cavity to define two separate apportioning cavities. A semi-solid product, such as meat, flows from the grinder or stuffer through the inlet of the flow tube and through the top cut-out into one of the apportioning cavities causing rotational movement of the baffle to a predetermined apportioning stop. Movement of the baffle forces an apportioned amount of the product through the bottom cut-out and through the outlet of the flow tube where it may be packaged. Switches may be provided to activate the grinder or stuffer upon rotation of the housing or to deactivate the same upon selected apportionment by the baffle.

    摘要： Apparatus for simultaneously feeding a plurality of sticks to a confectionary mold. The sticks are fed from a storage hopper through spaced openings provided in a fixed bottom plate. A reciprocating plate slidable on the bottom plate within the hopper includes a plurality of openings adapted to be placed in registration with the openings in the bottom plate to dispense the sticks. Should a stick become clogged in an opening, the remaining openings can still be placed in registration to dispense sticks. This is accomplished by dividing the reciprocable, sliding plate into a plurality of sections which are spaced from each other by the dispensing openings in the plate. Side bars connect the sections so they can move as an integral unit. Each section however, has a first and second spring-connected portion. Each portion can move independently of and relative to another so that if a dispensing opening between sections is clogged, the remaining openings in the reciprocable plate and fixed plate may still be placed in registration through movement transmitted by the side bars to the remaining sections of the reciprocable plate while the portions of the section in contact with the clogged stick are contracted towards each other.

    摘要： A grain bin access door and chute system that can be retrofitted into existing grain bins or installed in new grain bins. The access panel includes an outer door and an inner door and allows a user to quickly access and assess the grain within a bin without fear of falling into the grain or through the crust of grain which can form a bridge on the top of grain. The access door includes a lever-controlled chute door and pipe-chute connection. This allows grain to be gravity fed into awaiting grain trucks or rail cars without using a more dangerous grain auger and without relying on outside energy sources. Additionally, grain transferred through a gravity-fed method is less likely to become damaged than grain transferred through a grain auger. An optional grain agitator may likewise be installed within the grain bin.

    摘要： A refuse container having features which adapt it to comply with federal laws and regulations facilitating use by handicapped individuals. The dumpster may have any or all of the standard commercially available features of a front-end or rear-end loaded refuse bin for automatic overhead emptying of the trash from the bin into a garbage truck. Access for deposit of trash by non-disabled individuals is provided by at least one top lid hinged to the body of the bin over a deposit opening, preferably in a top wall of the dumpster. For access by disabled individuals, a gliding door covering a second deposit opening in a side wall of the dumpster is provided at a height no greater than 34 inches from the point of contact with the ground. The tracks of the gliding door are specially configured to prevent or minimize the collection of debris and ice which could hamper the ability of a disabled individual of minimal manipulative abilities to open the gliding door. An oversized handle is further provided to facilitate opening of the gliding door. Furthermore, a hinged baffle overhang is provided on the interior of the trash bin to deflect garbage deposited through the top deposit opening and delay the accumulation of a garbage pile inside immediately in front of the gliding door opening.

    摘要： A material handling system is provided having a plurality of separately actuatable flow gates disposed between the storage bin and the unloading conveyor which are sequentially opened and closed by a sliding zipper-type cam member to carefully control the amount of material applied to the conveyor. A compact screw drive assembly is mounted within a hollow of the screw at one end and enables the screw to be initially operable at a low speed to provide a higher break away torque when starting the screw and to be then operable at a higher speed and lower torque during constant running of the screw. The drive assembly includes a reversible motor coupled to a speed reducing gear arrangement in the reverse direction such that the motor is run in reverse when starting the screw and then run in forward during constant running of the screw.

    摘要： A bin with a hopper bottom is provided for storing and dispensing dog food, including a sliding gate located at the bottom of the hopper for regulating flow of dog food from the bin. The gate includes a solid center section which prohibits flow of dog food from the bin when positioned across the outlet hole at the bottom of the hopper, an opening which allows dog food to flow from the bin when positioned in alignment with the outlet hole, and handle means on its forward end projecting out the front of the dog food dispenser for convenient manual operation. The sliding gate also includes unique forms of agitators connected thereto and protruding upwardly through the outlet hole and into the bin in such a way as to agitate the dog food in the vicinity of the outlet hole as the gate is slidably moved thereby breaking down bridging of the dog food particles and encouraging smooth flow of the dog food from the bin.
