The shifting unit includes a fork slider slidably mounted on a fork rail, a shift fork integrally formed with the fork slider, and a cam contact pin integrally formed with the fork slider and contacting the cam block.

Abstract: A shift mechanism switches power transmission paths among a first transmission shaft, a second transmission shaft, and a third transmission shaft that are concentrically arranged on a rotational axis. The shift mechanism has a drive drum that is provided so as to be coaxial with the rotational axis and pivotable about the rotational axis, and a first driven drum and a second driven drum that are arranged on the rotational axis so as to be concentric with the drive drum and move along the rotational axis as the drive drum pivots. As the first driven drum moves, a first shift sleeve advances and retreats, and the first transmission shaft and the second transmission shaft are connected and disconnected. In addition, as the second driven drum moves, a second shift sleeve advances and retreats, and the second transmission shaft and the third transmission shaft are connected and disconnected.

Abstract: In a vehicle power unit, a drum rotary shaft member on one side of a shift drum is provided with a driven gear. A case side wall on one side of an engine crankcase supporting the drum rotary shaft member is covered by a case cover member in opposing relation thereto. A shift motor is mounted to the case cover member, with a driving gear thereof directed to protrude toward the case side wall. A speed reducing gear train has gear shafts and provides a multiplicity of speed reduction stages for transmitting power from the driving gear to the driven gear. The speed reducing gear train is arranged with both ends of its gear shafts thereof supported on the case side wall and the case cover member, respectively. Such arrangement provides a vehicle power unit for a fast and smooth shift by an electric motor.

Abstract: A vehicle power unit is disclosed which prevents a transmission apparatus from becoming large in size and promotes reduction in size by reducing the number of parts. A transmission shift drum has a driven gear mounted on a shift drum rotary shaft portion on one end of the shift drum. An extended support wall is formed to extend to outside in a vehicle width direction in parallel with a first case side wall of a crankcase. The case side wall supports the first drum rotary shaft portion on which the driven gear is mounted. The extended support wall and the first case side wall support thereon gears of a reduction gear train between a drive gear of a shift motor mounted on the extended support wall and the driven gear.

The drive member selector member can be controlled to selectively engage a drive member.

Abstract: There is provided a shift control system for a saddle-type vehicle. A gear shift lever is configured to be operated by a driver. A gearshift sensor is configured to detect an operation on the gear shift lever. A shift cam is configured to rotate according to the operation on the gear shift lever. A gear position sensor is configured to detect a rotation angle of the shift cam. In the case where the gearshift sensor does not detect a detection result according to a detection result of the gear position sensor, or in the case where the gear position sensor does not detect a detection result according to a detection result of the gearshift sensor, a control device determines abnormality occurrence, and stops engine operation control based on the detection results of the gearshift sensor and the gear position sensor on the basis of the abnormality occurrence.
