Abstract: In a cryogenic workbench, a cryogenic laser peening system and a control method. A a tapered surface gap d is adjusted, based on the electromagnetic principle, to control the gasification volume of liquid nitrogen, then the temperatures of the copious cooling workbench and the surface of a sample are precisely controlled by means of the adjustment of the heat absorption amount of liquid nitrogen gasification, the temperature adjustment range and the temperature rising/lowering rate of the cryogenic laser peening system are effectively extended, and the precision of the control of the surface temperature of the sample is increased in combination with a closed-loop control. Additionally, an intelligent control of a cryogenic laser peening process is realized by means of a computer and a PLC control unit, whereby the usage amount of liquid nitrogen in the experiment process is reduced and the processing efficiency is improved.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides cryogenic storage systems and methods of using the cryogenic storage systems. A cryogenic storage system of the present disclosure may comprise a cryogenic tank with an inner door and an outer door, and a robot apparatus located adjacent to the cryogenic tank. The cryogenic tank may store multiple racks such that at most a single rack is removable through the inner door or the outer door. The cryogenic tank may store the multiple racks in multiple groups of racks comprising a first group of racks located at a first radial distance and a second group of racks located at a second radial distance that is greater than the first radial distance. The robot apparatus may selectively open and close the inner or outer doors, and insert or withdraw the single rack into or out of the cryogenic tank through the inner door or the outer door.

Abstract: An apparatus for cooling liquid stored therein is described. In some embodiments, the apparatus comprises a first cylinder configured for storing a gas under pressure, a second cylinder defining at least one axial tubular space therein. The second cylinder stores the liquid to be cooled and the liquid storage compartment is separated from the axial tubular space. Further the second cylinder is covered with a lid that defines an opening for dispensing liquid. The interface between the second cylinder and the lid also includes a control valve for releasing the gas into the atmosphere. In operation, provisions are made in the first cylinder by way of an actuator and perforations for releasing the gas into the axial tubular space. The first cylinder and the second cylinder are detachably assembled prior to cooling. Various other embodiments and advantages are disclosed herein.

Abstract: For the transmission of electrical current, determined superconducting current carriers are accommodated in a cryostat, in which they are cooled with an undercooled cryogenic cooling medium, e.g. liquid nitrogen. The current carrier is electrically connected at the ends thereof to two normally conducting current supply means. The cooling medium is undercooled from a storage container to a temperature below its boiling temperature and supplied to the cryostat via a cooling medium inlet, brought into thermal contact with the superconducting current carrier, and subsequently discharged via a cooling medium outlet of the cryostat. According to the invention, the cooling medium from the cryostat is to be used for cooling at least one of the normally conducting current supply means.
