    摘要: A system for use in measuring an end play of a wheel hub assembly includes a follower configured to extend through an opening in a cover connected to a wheel hub. The cover covers the wheel hub such that the cover inhibits access to an end of a shaft of the wheel hub assembly, and the follower is configured to contact the end through the opening. The follower is received in a holder engageable with the cover such that the follower is movable relative to the cover and the holder to allow the follower to extend from the holder to contact the end of the shaft. A frame has a cavity receiving a measurement probe extending outwardly from the cavity. The probe contacts the follower and is configured to measure movement of the follower to determine endplay of the bearing assembly on the shaft. The frame includes a plurality of legs extending from the frame to a hub mounted on the shaft and coupled to the bearing to support the frame relative to the hub.

    摘要: Apparatus for measuring bone depth for determining the length of fastener to be employed in medical treatment of the bone includes an elongated inner bone probe having a bone-engaging portion and a plurality of first manually-engageable elements secured thereto. An outer sleeve overlies at least a portion of the inner bone probe and is movable with respect thereto. A second manually-engageable element is secured to the outer sleeve. The first and second manually-engageable elements may be generally ring-shaped, so as to facilitate insertion of a user's fingers. The apparatus is structured to have the bone-engaging portion of the inner bone probe pass through an opening in the bone and engage the distal exterior surface in intimate contact as a result of the first manually-engageable elements being engaged and urged away from the bone. The outer sleeve is moved generally toward the bone so as to achieve contact between the distal end of the outer sleeve and the proximal exterior surface of the bone. A reading of desired fastener length may then be made. Other embodiments of the gauge employing different configurations of the two main components and additional functional features, as well as adaptors, which facilitate retro-fitting structural features, of the present invention into prior art devices. Associated methods are provided.

The diamond element (10) may be a solid polycrystalline diamond material and/or may comprise base material which is coated with diamond. Alternatively or in addition, the RMS deviation from a perfect spherical surface may be less than about 500 nm, or the RMS roughness less than about 30 nm. A diamond element (10) with a radius of curvature less than about 20 mm is also disclosed. In one aspect a diamond element (10) having a conical half-angle greater than about 10° is described. Diamond elements (10) of this type are intended for use as metrology tips.

    摘要: Provided is an apparatus for measuring outer diameters of fuel rods of a nuclear fuel assembly, in which the fuel rods are standing upright and are used in a light water reactor. The apparatus includes a support unit fixed to a floor at a lower portion thereof so as to be kept insulated from vibrations caused by external forces, a measuring unit mounted on the support unit and moving up and down to measure the outer diameters of the fuel rods, and a transducer cooperating with the measuring unit, converting the measured outer diameters of the fuel rods into electrical signals, and sending the converted signals to the outside. Thus, the apparatus moves up and down to measure the outer diameters of the fuel rods, so that it can accurately check abnormalities in the outer diameters of the fuel rods.
