摘要: An exemplary electronic device is connected with an earphone. The earphone includes a first storage unit storing information as to functions of the earphone. The electronic device includes a second storage unit storing a function information table recording information as to user-controllable functions of the electronic device, function units corresponding to the user-controllable functions, an identifying module, and a control module. The identifying module retrieves the information as to functions stored in the first storage unit, and determines whether one or more of the controllable functions of the electronic device are controllable by the earphone. The control module activates all of the function units corresponding to the controllable functions of the electronic device which are controllable by the earphone, and controls one or more of the activated function units according to one or more control signals transmitted from the earphone to the electronic device. A related method is also provided.

摘要: A recording apparatus includes a tuner, a storage unit for holding on memory the timer information concerning at least the broadcast reception start time and the broadcast reception end time by the tuner, a timer, a recording unit for effecting recording on a recording medium taken out from a housing section holding a plurality of recording mediums and a controller for controlling the operation of the tuner and the recording unit based on an output signal from the timer and the timer information stored in the storage unit. The controller compares the output signal from the timer and the broadcast reception start time of the timer information held on memory in the storage unit, causes the recording unit to start recording of an output signal from the tuner on the recording medium thus taken out and causes the recoding unit to terminate the recording operation for the output signal from the tuner by the recording unit based on the results of comparison of the output signal of the timer and the broadcast reception end time of the timer information held on memory in the storage unit.

摘要: A toy phonograph having a base, a turntable, a first pickup arm engageable with a playing surface of a first phonograph record on one side of the turntable, a second pickup arm engageable with a playing surface of a second phonograph record on the opposite side of the turntable. The first phonograph record having a clockwise sound reproducing groove and the sound reproducing groove of the second phonograph record having a counterclockwise sound reproducing groove. The sound is picked up from the sound reproducing groove by direct resilient contact of a speaker cone assembly with each of the pickup arms which presses the respective pickup arm into playing engagement with the phonograph record. The speaker cone assembly includes a lift bar containing an aperture adjacent the end of the recording with a protrusion on the respective pickup arm being received in the aperture as the pickup arm reaches the end of the recording. The device may function as a talking toy bank wherein a coin inserted in the slot will cause the lift bar aperture to raise a sufficient amount due to engagement of the coin with an extension of the lift bar so as to unseat the protrusion on the associated pickup arm and enable the pickup arm to be resiliently reset to the periphery of the phonograph record, with the activating coin subsequently being dropped into a receptacle therefor.

摘要: A coin operated music machine which permits persons purchasing musical selections on the machine the opportunity of making additional selections over and above the amount of records and playing time to which he would be entitled by the deposit of coins into the machine. After the initial coin has been deposited into the machine, the player is offered the opportunity to make an additional coin deposit for which he may receive additional plays in addition to those purchased by the two coins. The right to receive the "Bonus Play" will be indicated on the machine but the player need not exercise the right to such play and can reject it by merely selecting the recordings which have been purchased by the deposit of the first coin. If the player decides to utilize the "Bonus Play" he will always receive the normal number of selections for the second coin but may additionally receive extra plays above the normal number of selections for a coin.

摘要: A solid state search unit for use in an automatic phonograph system in which phonograph selections are identified by three digit selection identification numbers, and which system includes a record magazine, a playing mechanism and a plurality of user-actuated remote selectors. In its normal mode of operation, the search unit, in cyclical fashion, searches memory locations corresponding to the respective selections offered for a play signal and, when such a signal is found, erases said play signal, causes the corresponding selection to be played, and transmits to the remote selectors a signal representing the selection identification number of the selection being played, or, if no play signal is found in the memory, stops the search. In its selective mode operation, the search unit, in response to a signal from a remote selector representing the selection identification number of a user's selection choice, stores a play signal in the corresponding memory location and restarts the normal mode search cycle.

摘要: A money receiving and credit accumulator system is disclosed herein which can continuously receive coins therein without the need of resetting a memory circuit or the like. The credit pulses and bonus credit pulses produced are stored until such time as a scanning signal transfers these pulses into an up-down counter. This allows a plurality of coin receiving and tune selection boxes to be positioned at remote locations and each coin receiving box can receive money and store credits and bonus credits independent of the other. The number of credits accumulated for each coin or bill is determined by the monetary value of the coin or bill and the number of bonus credits added to the circuit is determined by the total amount of money deposited. The bonus credits are automatically inserted into an up-down counter which forms part of the credit accumulator circuit. The entire credit accumulator circuit is designed to be formed as an integrated circuit on a single monolithic chip.
