    摘要: Unique systems, methods, techniques and apparatuses of an exciterless synchronous machine are disclosed. One exemplary embodiment is a salient pole rotor for an electric machine including one set of pole pairs including a first, second, and third pole pair; a field winding; a set of energy harvest windings, each winding mounted to each of the plurality of pole pairs and structured to receive a harmonic component of AC power from a stator; and a DC power supply structured to receive the harmonic component from the set of energy harvest windings, convert the harmonic component to DC power, and output the DC power to the field winding. The set of energy harvest windings are arranged in a first sequence on the first pole pair, a second sequence on the second pole pair, and a third sequence on the third pole pair, and each sequence is different.

    摘要: A polygonal coupling couples torque source to a torque consumer such that input and output portions of the coupling may elastically rotate relative to one another during torque transfer to accommodate rotational speed variations in delivery of torque from the torque source. In an embodiment the torque source is an internal combustion engine with an integrated switchable coupling between the engine crankshaft and a torque transfer segment supporting a motor-generator. The polygonal coupling includes axially-overlapping polygonal-shaped male and female portions which cooperate to pass torque between the output of the integrated switchable coupling and an input of the torque transfer segment. At least one of the male and female portions includes recesses which form flexible arms adjacent to the lobes of the polygonal shape that allow the portions to rotate relative to one another over small angular displacements, and thereby improve damping of crankshaft rotational vibrations.

    摘要: A boat-mounted wind power assembly for powering devices of a boat includes a first shaft that is rotatably coupled to and extends vertically from a boat. A plurality of blades is coupled to and extends from the first shaft. A generator is operationally coupled to the first shaft. A rectifier is operationally coupled the generator. A battery, which is rechargeable, is operationally coupled to the rectifier. The battery is selectively couplable to devices of the boat. The blades are configured to convert kinetic energy of wind into rotation of the first shaft. The generator is positioned to convert rotation of the first shaft into unstable alternating current. The rectifier is positioned to convert the unstable alternating current from the generator to direct current so that the battery is charged by the generator. The battery is configured to supply direct current to power the devices of the boat.
