Abstract: Providing downlink and uplink processing is disclosed for a cooperative user equipment (UE) operations. A UE participating in the cooperative UE may determine a processing capability associated with each cooperative operational mode of one or more cooperative operation modes of which the UE is capable. The UE sends a cooperative capability report to a serving base station that includes identification of the one or more capable cooperative operation modes and the processing capability of the UE associated with the each cooperative operation mode. The base station may then configure the UEs based on this capability information. The UEs would receive a cooperative mode configuration message from the serving base station with the configuration of a cooperative operation mode for the UE. The UE may then conduct cooperative UE communications using the configured mode according to its associated processing capability. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Aspects relate to the extension of cross-slot scheduling for power efficient paging between different New Radio (NR) operating platforms or environments. In some examples, the same paging downlink control information (DCI) may be shared between existing NR user equipment (UE) and new NR UE in different time slots, where a single paging DCI schedules multiple paging messages for each operating environment. In some examples, the same paging physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) occasion may be shared in existing NR and new NR operating environments for scheduling paging messages in different time slots, but different DCIs are used for scheduling the paging messages. In some examples, the same physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) paging message may be shared in different slots between existing NR and new NR operating environments.

A device may identify a transport block (TB) size for a TB that is scheduled across a set of component carriers (CCs) including a first CC and a second CC. The TB may include a first code block (CB) and a second CB. The device may rate match the TB with the set of CCs. Based on the rate matching, the device may identify redundancy portions of the first CB and redundancy portions of the second CB. The device may allocate a first redundancy portion of the first CB and a first redundancy portion of the second CB to the first CC, and may allocate a second redundancy portion of the first CB and a second redundancy portion of the second CB to the second CC. The device may transmit the TB over the set of CCs based on the allocating.

For the generated random number meeting a threshold value within the interval, transmitting, by the UE and to the base station, a random access preamble within one of the random access occasions of the set. For the generated random number not meeting the threshold value, attempting, by the UE, contention-based access to the network within a subsequent set of random access occasions of the base station, the subsequent set of random access occasions occurring after the set of contention-based random access occasions of the base station.

Abstract: In certain aspects, a method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes attempting to receive, from a first base station, data via a first communication link, generating a radio link control (RLC) status report indicating a status of the data at the UE, and transmitting, to a second base station, the RLC status report via a second communication link. The UE may be simultaneously connected to the first base station and the second base station using dual connectivity. In one example, the first base station may be configured as a secondary cell group (SCG) and the second base station may be configured as a master cell group (MCG). In one example, the first communication link may be a New Radio (NR) link and the second communication link may be a Long-Term Evolution (LTE) link.

Abstract: User equipment associated with a legacy network may utilize a bottom-to-top search technique to identify relevant control channel samples. Generating a control channel that is configured for the bottom-to-top search technique may lead to poor performance in a single-carrier waveform, which may be disadvantageous as networks move toward New Radio. In some aspects, described herein, a base station generates a control channel that is configured to minimize gaps in the control channel, and a user equipment performs a top-to-bottom search technique to identify relevant control channel samples. By using the top-to-bottom search technique, degradation of single-carrier waveforms is reduced and efficiency is improved.
