Abstract:
The present invention relates to an authentication method using small-sized commitments and systems thereof.According to the invention the size of the commitment is reduced but the time the entity to be authenticated takes to respond to the authenticating entity is checked and said time is required to be lower than a certain value. The security level is maintained.Application to methods of authentication (of entities or messages) or message signature.
Abstract:
A method of broadcasting a succession of contents through a computer network from a broadcasting source (S) to a plurality of receiver terminals able to receive from the source. The method includes, for each content, sending data units conveying the content from the source through the computer network, and supplying the receiver terminals with an indication enabling them to identify each transition between two successive contents, thus enabling the receiver terminals to determine the time of a transition between successive contents more precisely. The data units to be broadcast are marked by modifying the marking of the data units of the successive contents separated by a single transition. The receiver terminals (T) are supplied with marking information enabling them to distinguish between data units belonging to different contents (Cn, Cn+1) with the aid of their marking.
Abstract:
A stylus for a computer and a computer adapted to be used with the stylus. The computer comprises a housing (3) that carries a screen (4) and control means (6) adapted to be manipulated by a user to generate movements of a mobile object on the screen in at least one direction. The control means comprises a fixed part (10) and a mobile part (7) fastened to the housing and cooperating with each other, the fixed part being electrically connected to the housing. The mobile part comprises movement transducer means (9a–9d) which are adapted, in response to movement of the mobile part, to transmit to the fixed part information in the form of electrical signals relating to movement of the mobile object. One end of the stylus comprises fixing means adapted to cooperate with complementary fixing means (13) fastened to the mobile part to fasten the stylus to the movement control means to form a control that may be manipulated by the user.
Abstract:
An authentication server automatically selects one of plural authentications identified by authentication identifiers to authorize access by a user to a service dispensed by a service server of a provider identified by a provider identifier via a communication network. The server includes a module for selecting an authentication identifier in a memory as a function of the provider identifier and the type of the terminal and/or the network type of the communication network, and a module for authenticating the user by launching an authentication process associated with the authentication identifier.
Abstract:
The voice quality of telephone calls is evaluated. A first connection is established between a computerized apparatus and a person acting as a first experimenter, and a second connection is established between the platform and a second experimenter. The first and second connections are interconnected by the computerized apparatus to establish a call between the two experimenters and enable them to converse, the apparatus being cut into the call in order to acquire data about the call. The experimenters' opinions are solicited concerning their perceptions of the quality level they observe during their conversation. The apparatus evaluates consistency of the data collected with the nominal experimental conditions and the nominal quality level associated with the current test. Then, a determination is made as to how the current test is to be carried out as a function of a test plan and of the result of the evaluation. The test plan is set up by specifying nominal conditions for the experiment and nominal quality levels for carrying out the tests, and in collecting data during the tests.
Abstract:
A wireless system is provided for dynamically configuring a multimodal user interface based on user preferences to communicate with a local appliance. An appliance node is operably linked to the local appliance and configured to transmit interface format data of the local appliance for reception by the portable terminal when in the transmit vicinity of the appliance node. The portable terminal transmits an interface request therefrom in response to the reception of the interface format data. A server node is configured to receive the interface request from the portable terminal for identifying a user interface for use in interacting with the appliance. The server node transmits the identified user interface or the information for generating user interface to the portable terminal and the portable terminal presents the user interface or generates the user interface based on provided information to a user via a display of the portable terminal wherein the user may interact with the appliance in accordance with the identified user interface.
Abstract:
A method which makes it possible to select a predefined maximum number N of documents from a set of electronic documents. A graph G is constructed on the basis of the set of electronic documents, each vertex of the graph G corresponding to one of the documents of said set and each edge between two vertices of the graph indicating the presence of at least one hypertext link between the two documents, corresponding to the two vertices considered. The method uses the topological properties of this graph to select a subset of N documents. A minor MG of the graph G is generated comprising a predefined maximum number N of vertices by deletion of at least one vertex of the graph G, this deletion being aimed at minimizing for the predefined number N of vertices a predefined distance between the graph G and the minor MG, this distance measuring the perturbation of the neighborhood of the vertices of the graph G that is engendered by the generation of the minor MG.
Abstract:
This invention concerns a telecommunication system SYST including: a mobile transmitter/receiver ERM, a number of access points PA1i and PA2j, each capable of communicating with the mobile transmitter/receiver ERM situated in a coverage area ZA1i or ZA2j of the access point considered, and a communication network NW1 authorizing communications between said access points. The system according to the invention includes at least one mobility manager GM capable of determining, based on operating conditions of the access points, with which access point the mobile transmitter/receiver ERM should establish a communication. In the system according to the invention, a change in access point may not be carried out at the sole initiative of a mobile transmitter/receiver ERM, but is, on the contrary, carried out after analysis of an environment specific to said mobile transmitter/receiver ERM by the mobility manager GM.
Abstract:
This gateway includes means for creating a first instance of a first push-to-talk client adapted to communicate with a second push-to-talk client via a first telecommunications network; means for setting up a call with a service provider on a second telecommunications network; and control means adapted to set up a first communications channel between the first instance of the first push-to-talk client and the communications means to set up a logical session between a second push-to-talk client and the service provider.
Abstract:
A method for the building and use of a table of reduced profiles of paragons enables the summarizing of a table of profiles of a set of individuals, all the profiles being defined by a same set of indicators, the profile of a given individual comprising values for said set of indicators that are proper to said given individual. The method comprises the following steps: the selecting, from the set of indicators, of a subset of indicators defining reduced profiles of individuals, the reduced profile of a given individual comprising values for said subset of indicators that are proper to said given individual and obtained from data of a data warehouse; the sampling of the set of individuals, enabling a sample of individuals called paragons to be obtained; the obtaining of a table of reduced profiles of paragons comprising, for each of the paragons, a reduced profile specific to said paragons; and the indexing of all the individuals to the paragons, making it possible to obtain an index linking each individual to at least one paragon whose reduced profile is closest to the reduced profile of said individual, so that the content of the table of reduced profiles of paragons can be used for all the individuals.
