    Abstract: An invisible decking connector for wood decking structures fastens elongate decking boards to each other in side-to-side adjacency and fastens the decking boards to underlying perpendicularly oriented joists for positional maintenance thereon. The connector provides a medial disk having axially aligned ribbed nails extending perpendicularly from the medial portions of each of its sides. The periphery of the disk defines a slot to receive the head of a fastening screw extending in angulated orientation through an adjacent decking board and into a joist therebeneath. A tool with a body defining a medial hole to receive one of the ribbed nails to aid installation of the fastener by use of a hammer is disclosed.

    Abstract: A system of surface tiles for flooring or the like, and the method of their installation. The tiles each include a backing board, a number of spaced parallel stationary slats fixed on the backing board, and a longitudinally movable slat in each space between successive stationary slats and dovetailed between them. The movable slats are movable to stagger their ends relative to the ends of the stationary slats, and to extend from one tile to the next to interlock the tiles. Tiles are installed by: a. placing a number of tiles in a longitudinal row; b. moving the movable slats of a single working tile to desired staggered positions relative to the stationary slats; c. cutting the working tile transversely into tow end pieces; d. placing one of the end pieces on one end of the row with its cut edge outward of the row; e. moving the movable slats of the row to fill empty spaces between stationary slats; and f. placing the other of the end pieces on the other end of the row with its cut edge also outward of the row.

    Abstract: A nailing anchor for use in fixedly attaching a series of parallel wooden boards to a transverse joist. The member has two flat, horizontal tabs each positionable between one of a pair of adjacent boards and the joist. The tabs are fixedly attached to a flat spacer body and extend perpendicularly therefrom in opposite directions. A hole in the one tab allows the anchor to be nailed to the joist. An elongated slot in the spacer body allows the anchor to be toe-nailed through the one adjacent board into the joist. A flat, triangular point depends perpendicularly from an upper edge of the spacer for fastening the one board to the spacer body.
