Abstract:
An image processing apparatus and system, which can effectively use the functions of an interface and which can fully use an image forming apparatus, is connected to a plurality of image forming apparatuses via an interface. The image processing apparatus includes an image output circuit for transmitting the image to be formed via the interface, an input circuit for inputting the image forming conditions, and a mode designation circuit for designating the image communication mode of the interface in accordance with the image forming conditions input by the input circuit.
Abstract:
A host computer logs in an image providing device such as a scanner connected by a serial bus, and reverses flow control of data transfer by issuing a Reverse command. The image providing device opens a transfer channel by an OpenChannel command, transfers image data in form of blocks. When the transfer of the image data has been completed, the image providing device closes the transfer channel by a CloseChannel command, and reverses the flow control of the data transfer again by the Reverse command. This changes the data transfer direction of a device having a bi-directional data transfer function, i.e., a device having a data reception function and a data providing function.
Abstract:
A data transmission system where an image providing device and a printer are directly connected by a 1394 serial bus, a command is sent from the image providing device to the printer, then a response to the command is returned from the printer to the image providing device. Image data is sent from the image providing device to the printer based on information included in the response. The printer converts the image data outputted from the image providing device into print data. Thus, printing can be performed without a host computer by directly connecting the image providing device and the printer by the 1394 serial bus or the like.
Abstract:
A digital photo processing apparatus with an input device (1) for receiving digitized image data, an image processor (14) for processing the image data to generate printing data, a digital printer (P) for making photo prints from the printing data, and a data recorder (9) for recording the printing data used by the digital printer on a removable recording medium. The data recorder (9) includes a resolution converter (91) for automatically converting the printing data to a proper resolution corresponding to the resolution of the digital printer (P). The resolution converter (91) is operable when the printing data has a volume exceeding an available capacity of the removable recording medium detected by a capacity checker (92).
Abstract:
A conventional data communication apparatus cannot set different receiving capacity for each type of received image data. To solve this problem, a data communication apparatus according to this invention notifies a partner apparatus of the receiving capacity in the normal reception mode of the apparatus at the start of communication. If high-quality transmission is designated for image data transmitted from the partner apparatus, the data communication apparatus determines whether the image data exceeds its own receiving capacity in the high-quality reception mode. If the image data does not exceed the receiving capacity in the high-quality reception mode, the data communication apparatus performs high-quality reception/recording; otherwise, notifies the partner apparatus of its own receiving capacity in the high-quality reception mode.
Abstract:
In order to provide an image processing apparatus and system, which can effectively use the functions of an interface and can fully use an image forming apparatus, an image processing apparatus of this invention, which is connected to a plurality of image forming apparatuses via an interface, includes an image output means for transmitting the image to be formed via the interface, an input means for inputting the image forming conditions, and a mode designation means for designating the image communication mode of the interface in accordance with the image forming conditions input by the input means.
Abstract:
In order to select an interlace printing method, first, a resolution for a video print process is specified. Next, the actual amount of the free space in the shared area 33b of the RAM is detected. Then, the printing methods available are detected from Table 1. The printing method that uses the greatest number of ink jet nozzles is selected from the printing methods detected. Then, the video printing operation is executed using the selected printing method.
Abstract:
A data communication apparatus and method for reducing a load on a mail server by transmitting image data based on the contents of an electronic mail by a transmission method other than electronic mail transmitted. The data communication method performed by the apparatus comprises inputting image data, storing the image data, transmitting predetermined-format data relating to the image data by electronic mail, recognizing an instruction received from a transmission destination to which the electronic mail was transmitted, and transmitting the stored image data by a transmission method other than electronic mail transmitted on the basis of the contents of the instruction.
Abstract:
An automated film processing system, comprising: a film having at least one recordable section for storing at least one customer selected electronic address; a film finishing system for reading the electronic addresses recorded on said film, developing said film, digitizing the images developed on said film, and for transmitting the digitized images to the customer selected electronic addresses; and at least one customer station, remotely located from said film finishing system, said station electronically connected to said film finishing system for receiving and displaying the digitized images when addressed by said film finishing system. Photographs taken by a photojournalist are automatically communicated to a remotely located news agency by recording a telecommunication address for the remote location on the film. The data can be prerecorded on the film or recorded by the photographer before dispatching the film to a processor. At the processor, the developed film images are scanned and stored as image files. The address data, and any other data recorded by the photographer on the film is stored in a header appended to the image files. When the order is complete, a control computer at the processor automatically links to the remote image server via a telecommunications link based on address data in the file header. When the link is established, the image data is communicated to the remote server where image processing can be performed prior to making hard copy photoprints for publication. Other data recorded on the film can include such instructions as image scan resolution, color/tone scale calibration data, photolab identification and billing information.
Abstract:
A medical image reproducing system comprises a plurality of medical image signal feeding apparatuses, which feed out image signals representing medical images, and a single image reproducing and recording apparatus, which is connected to the plurality of the medical image signal feeding apparatuses, and which reproduces an image from each of the image signals fed out from the medical image signal feeding apparatuses and records the image. Each medical image signal feeding apparatus is provided with a device for generating an identification signal representing the resolution, with which the picture elements in an image represented by an image signal fed out from each medical image signal feeding apparatus are arrayed. The identification signal is fed into the image reproducing and recording apparatus together with the corresponding image signal. The image reproducing and recording apparatus is provided with a device for reading an identification signal and setting the resolution, with which the picture elements in a reproduced and recorded image are arrayed, to be equal to the resolution represented by the identification signal, which has thus been read.
