摘要： Systems, methods, and media for presenting media content are provided. In some implementations, a system for presenting media content is provided, the system comprising: a hardware processor that is programmed to: establish a connection with a media playback device; respond to a discovery request from a computing device presenting a media content item; establish a persistent communication channel with the computing device over a network in response to a request from the computing device to establish the persistent communication channel; receive identifying information of the media content item being presented by the computing device and identifying information of a source of the media content item being presented by the computing device; request the media content item from the identified source of the media content item as a stream of media content; and cause the media content item to be presented using the media playback device.

摘要： A profile provider: (i) associates a primary online device (OD1) with a set-top box (STB); (ii) a location of OD1 at some point in time is estimated to be “near” the STB, thereby establishing a STB proxy location; (iii) one or more secondary online devices (OD2s) are observed to be located “near” the STB proxy location and are associated with the STB; and (iv) a television advertisement is selected to be directed to the STB, which selection is based at least in part on profile information linked to one of the associated OD2s. The method can be particularly advantageous in situations wherein: the STB is not connected to any computer network; the STB is not ever connected to the same local area network as OD1 or OD2; or television service (used by the STB) and online access (used by OD1 and OD2s) are provided by different service providers.

An indication that a user device has initiated a casting session with a display device can be received. A request for recommended content to be presented on the display device can be received. A notification can be generated that includes an indication of the identified media content item and a selectable input that, when selected, causes the identified media content item to begin being presented on the display device.

摘要： A content access device and system may allow portable remote devices to be paired with a variety of different devices, allowing remote control through a network connection. Content access devices may expose application program interfaces, allowing incoming network traffic to control operation of the device much in the same way that a local infrared remote would. Routing content commands through an external application server may also yield other benefits, such as allowing more customized selection of information and advertising content to users based on their viewing history.

摘要： Systems and methods for determining whether a first electronic device detects a media item that is to be output by a second electronic device is described herein. In some embodiments, an individual may request, using a first electronic device, that a media item be played on a second electronic device. The backend system may send first audio data representing a first response to the first electronic device, along with instructions to delay outputting the first response, as well as to continue sending audio data of additional audio captured thereby. The backend system may also send second audio data representing a second response to the second electronic device along with the media item. Text data may be generated representing the captured audio, which may then be compared with text data representing the second response to determine whether or not they match.

摘要： A system and method for providing awareness in a hospitality environment are presented. In one embodiment, a vertical and horizontal array of set-top boxes is provided and each set-top box includes an identification corresponding to the room in which the set-top box is placed. Each set-top box includes a wireless transceiver that periodically transmits an identification beacon that is received by a proximate wireless-enabled interactive device. The proximate wireless-enabled interactive device, in turn, broadcasts data packets including an indication of the strength of set-top box identification signals received. The broadcasts are received by a server via an array of wireless routers. The location of the proximate wireless-enabled interactive device is determined based on the signal strength information in the data packets.

摘要： In a method for transmitting video for a display panel between a transmitter in electronic communication with a receiver over a wireless communication channel, the method includes: receiving, by a transmitter, a data signal from a data source; receiving, by the transmitter, a return signal from a receiver; selecting, by the transmitter based on at least one of channel quality, video quality, codec requirements, or data rate requirements, a profile from among a plurality of profiles each comprising one or more parameters for transmitting the data signal to the receiver, the plurality of profiles comprising one or more profiles corresponding to transmission of uncompressed video data and one or more profiles corresponding to transmission of compressed video data; and transmitting, by the transmitter, the data signal to the receiver according to the selected profile for display on the display panel.
