    Abstract: A device, system, and method detect an activity and utilize a mitigation scheme. The method is performed at a device that is configured to establish a network connection to a network, the network including a plurality of areas, each area being defined based on a grouping of a plurality of neighboring cells, the device being associated with one of the areas at a select time. The method includes determining between an activity status and a non-activity status associated with the device. When the activity status is determined, the method includes determining an area update rate indicating a number of changes to the associated area over a period of time. When the area update rate exceeds a predetermined update rate threshold, the method includes selecting a mitigation scheme configured to reduce an amount of power used by the device.

    Abstract: A wireless communication device (UE) may perform wireless communications according to at least a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT. When the UE is in idle-mode, it may determine whether to bias a RAT selection policy—which may be presently favoring networks operating according to the first RAT—towards the second RAT, based on one or more of the following: first information indicative of a quality of previous wireless communications performed by the UE according to the first RAT, second information indicative of an overall quality of wireless communications performed according to the first RAT by the UE over a specified period of time at a specific location where the UE is presently located, and/or third information indicative of an overall quality of wireless communications performed according to the first RAT by other UEs presently located at the specific location.

    Abstract: A user equipment device (UE) may receive a schedule for a listen before talk (LBT) procedure for a secondary component carrier on a first subscription associated with the UE that includes a radio frequency resource of the UE. The UE may determine a requirement to perform at least one operation on a second subscription associated with the UE that also includes the radio frequency resource. The UE may determine that performance of the at least one operation (at least partially) interferes (time overlaps) with performance of the LBT procedure. In response, the UE may initiate at least one scheduling operation at the UE to avoid interference between performance of the at least one operation on the second subscription and performance of the LBT procedure on the first subscription.
