Abstract: A configurable new radio (NR) uplink (UL) transmission may use transmit diversity. A user equipment (UE) may identify an uplink transmission of at least one stream as using one of cyclic prefix orthogonal frequency division multiplexing or discrete Fourier transform spread orthogonal frequency division multiplexing. The UE may apply a precoding matrix to the at least one identified stream. The precoding matrix changes over time. The precoding matrix may change based on closed loop feedback, a precoding cycling pattern, and/or a code division multiplexing group. The UE may transmit the at least one identified stream from multiple antennas according to the applied precoding matrix.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) on a component carrier (CC) that is otherwise configured for downlink communications. Due to a carrier aggregation configuration or UE capability, the UE may need to retune certain components to transmit on the CC. If the SRS transmission, including the retuning time, collides with another transmission (e.g., in uplink or downlink) the UE may drop the SRS, drop the other transmission, or puncture the other transmission to facilitate the SRS transmission. The determination about a collision may depend on the retuning time, channel, or type of control information in the other transmission. In some cases, a UE may drop the other transmission if transmitting the SRS would prevent the UE from transmitting a demodulation reference signal, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. In some cases, the determination may be based upon a prioritization and may also depend on a subsequent subframe.

Abstract: Techniques for monitoring for control information in sets of downlink control channel resources are described, where multiple sets of downlink control channel resources may overlap. The described techniques include monitoring for one or more search spaces in a set of downlink control channel resources by rate matching downlink control channel resources independently of other sets of downlink control channel resources. Alternatively, overlapping sets of downlink control channel resources may be rate-matched accounting for reference signals of overlapping sets of downlink control channel resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may use an increased transmit power for one or more instances of an autonomous uplink transmission. For example, a UE may be configured with a repetition window including multiple transmission time intervals (TTIs) and may identify a subset of TTIs within the window that may be unavailable for autonomous uplink transmissions. The UE may adjust transmit power or transmit a scheduling request based on the presence of unavailable TTIs. In some examples, the UE may increase the transmit power by an amount that is based on a number of unavailable TTIs, or a fixed amount, or a combination thereof. In some examples, a UE with limited transmit power (e.g., under a maximum transmit power) may dynamically transmit a report to a base station that includes a request to modify a communications scheme used by the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for multiple timing advance offsets that may be used in communications between wireless devices on a wireless communications system. A first timing advance offset may be a fixed offset that has a predetermined value or is selected from a set of available predetermined values, and a second timing advance offset may be adjustable by a wireless device. The second timing advance offset may be used in cases where relatively large distances between wireless devices are present in a system, where certain fixed timing advances are used in addition to or irrespective of a receiving devices propagation delay, where one or more parent nodes have an associated timing reference, or combinations thereof.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) or multiple UEs may transmit a grant-free uplink transmission to a base station. The base station may monitor resources for the grant-free uplink transmission (e.g., from one or more UEs) and the base station may generate a group feedback message corresponding to whether the base station successfully received the uplink transmission(s). The group feedback message may contain feedback for multiple uplink transmissions from one or multiple UEs. The group feedback message may be transmitted to a UE over a downlink shared channel or a downlink control channel and the UE may receive the group feedback message and may determine whether to retransmit the uplink transmission based on the group feedback message.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish a connection with another wireless node, such as a base station or another UE. The connection may include a narrowband control region of a wideband system. The UE may identify a set of resources, which may include a set of subframes that have the same precoding or a set of resource blocks that have the same precoding, during which to monitor a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) for decoding a control channel within the narrowband. The UE may then decode the control channel using the DM-RS or a cell-specific reference signal (CRS), or both DM-RS and CRS. The UE may exclude resources of the narrowband region that include a control region for broadband communications.

A user equipment (UE) may receive the configuration from at least one TRP of the plurality of TRPs. The UE may monitor downlink resources for reception of the group-common information based on the configuration. The TRP may transmit, and the UE may receive, the group-common control information over the downlink resources. The group-common control information may indicate communication parameters for communications between the UE and at least one TRP.

Abstract: Power control in new radio (NR)-to-NR dual connectivity communications is disclosed. A UE, compatible for NR-to-NR dual connectivity, may receive a transmit power configuration and a power allocation configuration. The transmit power configuration identifies the designated reserved power for each of the cell groups participating in the dual connectivity communication. The power allocation configuration identifies to the UE whether to operate access to excess transmission power by either mode 1 rules, which may introduce phase discontinuity into ongoing transmissions, or mode 2 rules, which use a look-ahead functionality to trigger joint determination and allocation of transmission power among known uplink transmissions over a given transmission duration. After the determined transmission power allocation has been made, the UE transmits the dual connectivity transmissions according to the determined power.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Data may be received during transmission time intervals (TTIs) that have a short duration relative to other TTIs. The short-duration TTIs may occur within or overlap a longer duration TTI, such as a subframe. Feedback responsive to the data may be generated and assigned for transmission during an uplink TTI according to a feedback timing or delay, which may be selected to reduce latency or balance the payload size of uplink messages sent during the assigned uplink TTI. Data and feedback assignments in short-duration TTIs may be configured based on a time division duplexing (TDD) configuration for some TTIs (e.g., subframes). TTIs that are a Long Term Evolution (LTE) subframe, an LTE slot, and a duration of two LTE symbol periods may be supported. Portions of special TTIs may be used for transmissions according to shorter-duration TTIs.
