Abstract: A system implements self-supervised learning through contrastive learning using an image transformer. The transformer receives medical images for training an Artificial Intelligence (AI) model, and executes a first cropping and prediction operation by (i) cropping a first patch P from a first random location L from an image A selected from the plurality of medical images and (ii) training a classification head to predict that the first patch P is part of the image A. The transformer executes a second cropping and prediction operation by (iii) cropping a second patch P from a second random location L from the image A selected from the plurality of medical images and (iv) training the classification head to predict that the second patch P forms no part of an image B selected from the plurality of medical images. The transformer issues a determination that the image B is different than the image A.

Abstract: Provided herein are methods of detecting single molecules that include binding single molecules in a sample solution to a first surface of an optically transparent substrate include the optically transparent substrate is free of a metallic coating. In some embodiments, the methods include irradiating the first surface of the substrate with an incident light having an incident angle selected to achieve total internal reflection of the incident light, thereby scattering light from the first surface and from the single molecules bound to the surface in which a wavelength of the incident light is between 10 nm and 350 μm and the optically transparent substrate has a refractive index at the wavelength of the incident light exceeding that of the sample solution, and collecting an image that captures interference between evanescent light scattered from the single molecules and the first surface. Systems and additional methods are also provided.

Abstract: A pneumatic-driven fluidic cartridge and systems and methods for operating the same. The cartridge includes a substrate layer, an actuator layer, and an elastic layer. A fluid channel formed in a surface of the substrate layer includes a first chamber and a second chamber separated by a block section. The actuator layer includes a lever positioned to extend across the block section. The elastic layer is positioned between the substrate layer and the actuator layer. The lever applies a force to the elastic layer restricts fluid flow from the first chamber to the second chamber and is configured to bend outwardly opening a channel between the block section and the elastic layer exceeds the first threshold pressure.

Abstract: Systems and methods for using machine learning to improve disease diagnostics are provided. A method can include obtaining, using a peptide array, peptide sequence data and peptide binding values from one or more samples, wherein the peptide sequence data and the peptide binding values correspond to a plurality of conditions; for each of the one or more samples, normalizing the peptide binding values according to a median binding value of peptides associated with the peptide array; and training a regressor using dense compact representations of the peptide sequence data and peptide binding values. The method can further include providing an output of the regressor to a classifier, wherein the classifier is configured to determine whether the patient has one of the plurality of conditions based on the output of the regressor.
