Abstract: Methods, systems and devices for implementing an adaptive color transform (ACT) during image/video encoding and decoding, including: determining, for a conversion between a video comprising a block and a bitstream of the video, that a size of the block is greater than a maximum allowed size for an ACT mode, and performing, based on the determining, the conversion, wherein, in response to the size of the block being greater than the maximum allowed size for the ACT mode, the block is partitioned into multiple sub-blocks, and wherein each of the multiple sub-blocks share a same prediction mode, and the ACT mode is enabled at a sub-block level.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to overlapped block motion compensation with derived motion from neighbors. A method for video processing, comprising: determining, during a conversion between a current block of visual media data and a corresponding coded representation of the visual media data, at least one neighboring block for the current block; determining motion information of the at least one neighboring block; and performing Overlapped Block Motion Compensation (OBMC) for the current block based on the motion information of the at least one neighboring block, wherein the OBMC includes using an intermediate prediction values of one sub-block of the current block and a prediction values of at least one neighboring sub-block to generating a final prediction values of the sub-block.

Abstract: A method of video processing includes determining, for a conversion between a current block of a video and a bitstream representation of the video using a coding tool that accesses samples outside of the current block, that neighboring samples used for the conversion are unavailable. Samples that are located across a boundary of a video unit of the video are considered as unavailable samples. The method also includes performing, based on the determining, the conversion by padding samples in place of the neighboring samples that are unavailable. The padding samples are determined using samples that are restricted to be within a current processing unit associated with the current block.

Abstract: A method of processing video data is described. The method includes performing a conversion between a current video block of a video and a bitstream of the video. A geometric partitioning mode index for the current video block is coded in the bitstream and a binarization of the geometric partitioning mode index is performed according to a rule. The geometric partitioning mode index specifies a geometric splitting shape of a geometric partitioning mode applied to the current video block. The rule specifies that the geometric partitioning mode index is coded with a fixed-length binarization.

In a representative aspect, a method for video processing includes generating a final prediction block for a conversion between a current block of visual media data and a bitstream representation of the current block and performing the conversion based on the final prediction block. At least a portion of the final prediction block is generated based on a combination of a first prediction block and a second prediction block that are based on reconstructed samples from an image segment that comprises the current block.
