Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a frequency resource for a multicast/broadcast service (MBS) for the UE to monitor for one or more group-common downlink control channels. The base station may transmit an indication, such as an explicit indication, of a monitoring condition for the group-common downlink control channels within the frequency resource. The UE may apply the monitoring condition by enabling or disabling the group-common downlink control channel monitoring within the frequency resource. The UE may monitor one or more downlink control channels for scheduling information from the base station according to the monitoring condition.

In some aspects, a user equipment may determine a relationship between a first set of antenna ports, used for demodulation reference signals (DMRS) associated with a machine-type communication physical downlink control channel (MPDCCH) and used for the MPDCCH, and a second set of antenna ports used for cell-specific reference signals (CRS); receive CRS on one or more antenna ports of the second set of antenna ports; and receive the MPDCCH using at least the CRS based at least in part on the relationship. Abstract: A base station may calculate a scheduling value based on at least one of a number of groups associated with a set of UEs operating on a cell provided by the base station a radio frame number, or a subframe number. The base station may send, based on the calculated scheduling value, at least one NRS in at least one PO on a narrowband control channel. A UE may receive, from the base station providing the cell, information associated with at least one PO for the UE. The UE may determine, based on the received information, scheduling information associated with at least one NRS in the at least one PO. The UE may detect the at least one NRS in the at least one PO on a narrowband control channel when the determined scheduling information indicates the at least one NRS is in the at least one PO.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for reducing a size of semistatic codebooks for HARQ feedback. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes determining a number (M) of candidate downlink transmission occasions for a time period, determining a maximum number (k) of simultaneous downlink transmissions the UE can receive during the time period, receiving one or more downlink transmissions during the time period from a base station, and determining a type of encoding for the HARQ feedback based on: (i) a number of the one or more downlink transmissions received, (ii) the number (M) of candidate downlink transmission occasions for the time period, and/or (iii) the maximum number (k) of simultaneous downlink transmissions.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for transmitting and receiving an extended narrowband positioning reference signal (NPRS) sequence. In an aspect, a base station generates the extended NPRS sequence and transmits, to at least one user equipment (UE) over a wireless narrowband channel, the extended NPRS sequence. In an aspect, a UE receives, over the wireless narrowband channel, an NPRS of a first subset of the extended NPRS sequence and measures the NPRS of the first subset of the extended PRS sequence. In an aspect, the extended NPRS sequence may be a function of a plurality of slot numbers of a plurality of slots of a plurality of sequential radio frames and a plurality of symbol indexes of a plurality of symbols of a single physical resource block.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit uplink transmissions according to a frequency hopping pattern. The UE may identify that a first set of uplink transmissions are to be transmitted to a base station by a first set of resources (e.g., a first set of slots, a first set of frequency resources) as indicated by the frequency hopping pattern. The UE may further identify, based on the frequency hopping pattern, that a second set of uplink transmissions are to be transmitted to the base station by a second set of resources (e.g., a second set of slots, a second set of frequency resources). The first set of slots and the second set of slots may each include more than one slot. Additionally, the first and second set of resources may be within a same bandwidth part or in different bandwidth parts.

Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided for wireless communication at a User Equipment (UE). The UE receives a second random access message from the base station after transmitting a first random access message. The second random access message comprises a random access response (RAR) that indicates a narrowband to be used for receiving a fourth random access message. The apparatus determines whether to perform a measurement of the narrowband for the fourth random access message based on an amount of time between receiving the second random access message and transmitting a third random access message. The base station may determine whether the report comprises a measurement of the first narrowband or the second narrowband based on an amount of time between the second random access message and the third random access message or based on an indication in the third random access message.

A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to the base station, a beam recovery request including an indication of a multicast beam, where the beam recovery request is transmitted based at least in part on a unicast uplink grant, and where the unicast uplink grant comprises a set of uplink resources for a multicast beam recovery procedure based at least in part on a failure of the multicast beam associated with multicast communications between the UE and the base station. The UE may receive, from the base station in response to the beam recovery request, a response message including an indication of a second uplink grant, an indication of a second beam for communications between the UE and the base station, or both. The UE may transmit a first uplink transmission via the second uplink grant, the second beam, or both.

A user equipment (UE) may identify a multicast service available for subscription by the UE or to which the UE is already subscribed. The UE may transmit a message, to a network node, that may include UE assistance information (UAI) indicating at least one of a UE capability to process multicast transmissions or a feedback scheme preference for reporting feedback for the multicast transmissions. The UAI may also include at least one of a multicast carrier preference, band or carrier measurement report, a multicast priority indication, or a measurement and reporting scheme preference for the multicast transmissions. The network node may receive the UAI and determine one or more parameters for multicast communications with the UE based on the UAI. The UE may receive the multicast transmissions from the network node in accordance with the UAI.
