    Abstract: Embodiments herein provide for the usage of exceptional resource pool for positioning (RP-P) when a UE transmits or receives RF signals for positioning via sidelink. The UE can determine whether one or more conditions have been met for using the exceptional RP-P during a positioning session, then transmit or receive the one or more reference signals accordingly. Various conditions may be established for using the exceptional RP-P, including radio link failure, high-priority/emergency conditions, a number of anchor UEs in non-exceptional RP-P being below a threshold, a number of anchor UEs in the exceptional RP-P being above the threshold, and others. The exceptional RP-P may be provided to the UE via an exceptional RP-P configuration from a base station, location server, or another UE.

    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a User Equipment (UE) may register, with a first network entity, as a reference location device. The UE may receive positioning assistance data from a second network entity for a positioning session between the UE and a location server, the positioning assistance data indicating at least one or more positioning reference signal (PRS) resources of at least one PRS resource set of at least one transmission-reception point (TRP) of at least one positioning frequency layer, wherein the positioning assistance data is dedicated for use by UEs registered as reference location devices.

    Abstract: A wireless device may select a positioning model from a set of positioning models supported by the wireless device based on a set of conditions of the wireless device satisfying a set of validity conditions associated with the selected positioning model. The wireless device may receive a set of positioning signals. The wireless device may measure the set of positioning signals. The wireless device may calculate, using the selected positioning model, a set of positioning results based on the measured set of positioning signals. The wireless device may include at least one of a user equipment (UE), a network node, or a network entity. The positioning model may include an artificial intelligence machine learning (AIML) model. The set of validity conditions may relate to an environment of the wireless device for which the positioning model was trained and is known to work.
