Abstract: A system and method for determining a position or a movable device is disclosed. The present system utilizes a movable device equipped with a locator device that has an antenna array such that it may determine the angle of arrival of a plurality of incoming beacon signals. In certain embodiments, the movable device is also able to measure its distance travelled. By knowing its distance moved and the angle of arrival from each beacon, the locator device is able to calculate its position as well as the position of each beacon. This procedure may be executed at regular intervals so that the movable device accurately determines its position.

The network node transmits, for a network entity, the beam squint information for at least one beam of the set of beams for a positioning session. The network entity participates, based on the beam squint information via the at least one beam, in the positioning session with the network entity.

The RFID tags are applied to construction foil, which is positioned under the top layer of a floor.

Abstract: A system and method for determining the orientation of a linear array of radio receivers in space is provided. The system includes a primary radio receiver and a plurality of secondary radio receivers arranged in a collinear configuration and irregularly spaced apart from one another. Abstract: A geolocationing system and method for providing awareness in a multi-space environment, such as a hospitality environment or educational environment, are presented. In one embodiment of the geolocationing system, a vertical and horizontal array of gateway devices is provided. Each gateway device includes a gateway device identification providing an accurately-known fixed location within the multi-space environment. Each gateway device includes a wireless transceiver that receives a beacon signal from a proximate wireless-enabled personal locator device. The gateway devices, in turn, send gateway signals to a server, which determines estimated location of the wireless-enabled personal location device with angle of arrival modeling.

Abstract: A receiver, which is located in a spatial region of interest served by a transmitter of a wireless communication network, receives a radio signal from at least one transmitter of the wireless communication network, and the radio signal has a plurality of position reference signal (PRS) sequences. Each PRS sequence has associated therewith a different PRS sequence identifier, and each PRS sequence is send using a different beam cone of the transmitter. The beam cones of the transmitter for sending the plurality of PRS sequences are directed to the spatial region of interest. The receiver processes the radio signal to estimate a time of arrival of each PRS sequence and to obtain for each PRS sequence the associated PRS sequence identifier. A position of the receiver is estimated using the times of arrival and the obtained PRS sequence identifiers.

Abstract: A method for signal processing includes receiving at a given location at least first and second signals transmitted respectively from at least first and second antennas of a wireless transmitter. The at least first and second signals encode identical data using a multi-carrier encoding scheme with a predefined cyclic delay between the transmitted signals. The received first and second signals are processed, using the cyclic delay, in order to derive a measure of a phase delay between the first and second signals. Based on the measure of the phase delay, an angle of departure of the first and second signals from the wireless access point to the given location is estimated.
