    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to beam refinement with simultaneous spatial-division multiplexed beams are provided. A user equipment (UE) receives, from a base station (BS), a plurality of reference signals in a set of beam directions. The receiving includes receiving, simultaneously during a first symbol, at least a first reference signal of the plurality of reference signals in a first beam direction of the set of beam directions and a second reference signal of the plurality of reference signals in a second beam direction of the set of beam directions, where the second beam direction is different from the first beam direction. The UE transmits, to the BS, a beam report indicating received signal measurements for two or more beam directions of the set of beam directions.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for determining a constellation configuration for an amplitude phase shift keying (APSK) modulation scheme. The constellation configuration may be based on communication impairment information that is indicative of at least one communication impairment expected to impair a single-carrier waveform communication. Examples of communication impairments may include additive white gaussian noise (AWGN), phase noise, non-linear distortion, or any combination thereof, among other examples. Examples of a constellation configuration may include a quantity of rings in a constellation pattern associated with the APSK modulation scheme, a quantity of constellation points associated the rings, a ring radius associated with one or more rings, a phase offset to one or more rings, and a mapping of data bits to one or more constellation points, among other examples.

A user equipment (UE) may identify combinations of modulation and coding schemes and resource block allocations that are associated with non-self-decodable codes. The UE may transmit data over the physical channel in a communication generated using the selected combination of the modulation and coding scheme and the resource block allocation.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may receive control signaling indicating a downlink reference signal configuration, for example, a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) configuration. The communication device may receive a downlink reference signal (e.g., a DMRS) over a downlink control channel (e.g., a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH)) during an initial symbol duration of a transmission time interval (TTI). The downlink reference signal may include a set of bits including a first subset of bits including network temporary identifier bits and a second subset of bits including constellation bits associated with a downlink data channel (e.g., a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH)). The communication device may process the downlink reference signal (e.g., a DMRS) based on the downlink reference signal configuration (e.g., a DMRS configuration).

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a network entity, a capability message indicating a capability of the UE to report a cyclic shift for a reference signal. The UE may receive an indication of a reporting configuration from the network entity indicating uplink resources for reporting the cyclic shift by the UE, and the UE may receive one or more reference signals from the network entity. In some examples, the UE may transmit, to the network entity and using the uplink resources, an uplink message indicating the cyclic shift. The UE may estimate the cyclic shift based on measuring a channel delay spread of the one or more reference signals, a phase noise mask of the one or more reference signals, or both.
