Abstract: Systems and methods for grounds monitoring may include recreational grounds monitoring robots that move about a recreational ground measuring soil moisture at various selectable locations, performing security monitoring and/or identifying and tracking objects on the recreational ground, such as players, golf carts and golf balls. The recreational grounds monitoring robots may also monitor the recreational ground while at charging or docking stations along the boundaries or edges of the recreational ground. Data collected from such monitoring may be used to reduce water usage and enhance games played on the recreational ground by providing the player with the ability to easily locate, and thus track, the location and movement of the ball, while also to facilitating providing game statistics, leaderboard information, other game variations, interactive games and augmented games.

Abstract: Various arrangements are presented for using an electronic device for content playback. A television receiver may provide to the device access to a shared encryption key. The shared encryption key may be used to decrypt content from an over-the-top (OTT) content host system. The device may request content from the OTT content host system using the set of credentials. The device may then receive encrypted content from the OTT content host system, wherein the encrypted content corresponds to the requested content. The encrypted content received from the OTT content host system may be decrypted by the device using the shared encryption key. The device may then output for presentation the decrypted content.

The paper roll sensing device may include a housing, a wireless transceiver, and a time-of-flight sensor. The time of flight sensor may measure a distance from the time-of-flight sensor to a target region. The paper roll sensing device may include one or more processors, located within the housing that communicates with the wireless transceiver and the time-of-flight sensor. The paper roll sending device may include a fastener that permits the housing to be attached to a location within a paper roll dispenser such that the time-of-flight sensor is pointed at a paper roll, wherein the target region is a portion of the paper roll.

Abstract: Novel techniques are described for recognizing subscriber devices that have not downloaded and properly configured a specialized application for remote coordination between the subscriber device and the subscriber's set-top box. For example, a network discovery routine can be executed by a set-top box communicatively coupled with a local area network (LAN) router, thereby discovering a portable device communicatively coupled with the LAN router. A pairing data store can be queried by the set-top box to determine that the discovered portable device is a presently unpaired portable device with respect to the remote media playback system. A prompt can be communicated to the presently unpaired portable device automatically in response to the querying, the prompt directing the presently unpaired portable device to pair with the remote media playback system.
