Abstract: Systems and methods for fusing, for a subscriber, a plurality of applications and subscriber data across a plurality of subscriber access devices are described. The system includes a fusion server coupled to a voice-over-IP telephony switch and a television EBIF server. The fusion server receives and stores the subscriber data such as a list of contacts. The fusion server receives a communication in a first format from a first subscriber access device such as a set-top box, and translates the communication from the first format to a second format. The first and second formats include at least two of session initiation protocol (SIP), hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP), voice-over-IP (VoIP), simple object access protocol over extensible markup language (SOAP/XML), remote procedure call (RPC), and enhanced tv binary exchange format (EBIF). The fusion server transmits the translated communication to a second subscriber access device such as a smart phone or tablet computer.

Abstract: Video conferencing in a controlled environment facility entails significant security concerns. These concerns are even more prevalent in a system that permits residents of such facilities to communicate via their own personal devices. Therefore, in order to alleviate these concerns and provide a secure system in which a resident is able to make video calls using their personal device, a kiosk unit is provided to which the personal device must be linked for completing a video call. When making the video call, the camera and display on the personal device are disabled, and all video data is captured and displayed by the kiosk unit. The link between the kiosk unit and the personal device facilitates the exchange of the image information for transmission to the outside party, or display to the user. By providing a fixed camera, and disabling the personal device camera, security can be maintained while permitting video calling services.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to routing customer calls to preferred agents. Embodiments receive a call from a customer using a user device; determine an identity of the customer; retrieve information associated with the matching entry; based at least in part on the retrieved information, select one or more agents; and route the call to one of the selected agents. Some embodiments determine a telephone number from which the call was received; comparing the telephone number with a plurality of entries in a customer information database; and determining that the telephone number matches an entry in the database. Other embodiments receive a communication from the user device indicating that the customer has placed the call; determine that the customer is currently authenticated through an online banking session or a mobile application on the user device; and receive a communication from the user device indicating the customer's identity.
