Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus has a cyclone bin assembly having a cyclone chamber. The cyclone chamber with a physical filtration member defining the cyclone air outlet. The physical filtration member has an outer wall wherein at least a portion of the outer wall is porous and a plurality of ribs is spaced around the outer wall. The ribs have a radial inner side that has an inner width in the direction of rotation and a radial outer side that has an outer width in the direction of rotation that is narrower than the inner width.

Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus is provided. The surface cleaning apparatus includes a dirt inlet, a rotatable brushing member, and a brush motor drivingly connected to the rotatable brushing member. The brush motor includes a plurality of field coils, a first motor sub-unit, a second motor sub-unit, and a motor controller. The first motor sub-unit includes a first rotor portion, a first stator portion, and a first field coil. The second motor sub-unit includes a second rotor portion, a second stator portion, and a second field coil. The first and second rotor portions are rotatable about a motor axis and are drivingly connected to the brushing member. The second motor sub-unit is axially spaced along the motor axis from the first motor sub-unit. The motor controller is operable to direct electric current through the plurality of field coils generating magnetic fields and driving rotation of the rotor portions.

Abstract: An evacuation station for a surface cleaning apparatus has a housing having an air flow path extending from an evacuation station air inlet to an evacuation station air outlet. An air treatment assembly comprising an air treatment member, is moveable from an in use position in which the air treatment member is positioned in the air flow path and a second position in which the air treatment member is disconnected from the air flow path. The air treatment assembly is moveable only laterally as it is moved from the in use position to the second position.

Abstract: An upright extractor has an upright section moveably mounted to a surface cleaning head. The upright section has a wand and hose assembly and a liquid separator. The liquid separator comprises a solid collection chamber that is separated from a liquid collection chamber by a porous divider. The upright extractor is operable in a floor cleaning mode in which the handle is a driving handle of the upright extractor. The upright extractor is also operable in an above floor cleaning mode in which the inlet end of the wand is disconnected from fluid flow communication with the surface cleaning head dirty fluid inlet and an above floor air flow path extends from the inlet end of the wand to the clean air outlet and the liquid separator and the suction motor are provided in the above floor cleaning air flow path.

Abstract: A surface cleaning head has a rotatably mounted brush, which is provided at a front end of the surface cleaning head, a cleaning solution delivery system and a removable liquid collection reservoir, which is provided in the surface cleaning head rearward of the brush. The cleaning solution delivery system comprises a pump, a liquid reservoir and a fluid flow path extending from the liquid reservoir to at least one delivery nozzle, wherein the at least one delivery nozzle is provided in the surface cleaning head and is configured to deliver a liquid drawn from the liquid reservoir to a portion of the brush that is located internal of the surface cleaning head.

Abstract: A vacuum cleaner or a docking station has momentum separator having first and second sidewalls which are porous. A first air flow chamber is located exterior to the momentum separator between a first end wall, which is spaced from and faces the first side screen, and the first side screen. A second air flow chamber is located exterior to the momentum separator between a second end wall, which is spaced from and faces the second side screen, and the second side screen. In operation, air exits the momentum separator through the first and second side screens and travels through the first and second air flow chambers to the air outlet of the first and second air flow chambers.
