The first filter chamber has a retentate outlet, is particularly easy to handle if the second filter screen is arranged in a cavity of the filter housing, the inlet and outlet openings communicate with each other through the second filter screen, and the retentate outlet is arranged on a side of the second filter screen that faces the fluid flow.

The invention also relates to apparatuses of the kind initially specified which further comprise: at least one housing cover (25) for closing the housing, at least one filter cleaning mechanism (11) for cleaning the filter element (55) of residues from the filtered fluid, and at least one backflushing system (13, 13′) in fluid communication with the filter element (55), for conducting and discharging the residues from the filtered fluid. The invention solves the stated problem by the filter cleaning mechanism (11) being associated with the housing cover (25) and in particular being fixed thereto, and by the backflushing system (13, 13′) being associated with the housing (3, 3′), in particular with housing segments (23).

摘要： A method for automated cleaning of a filter basket in a bioreactor includes determining permeability of the filter basket. A control unit controls a suction unit for suctioning a residual liquid from the liquid tank, a liquid metering unit for dispensing a liquid having a predetermined liquid volume into the filter basket controls the suction unit to empty the liquid tank by suctioning a filtered liquid volume, measures the volume of the suctioned liquid volume, and sending a first measurement signal to the control unit. The control unit determines a permeability quotient from the volume of the extracted filtered liquid volume to the volume of the dispensed predetermined liquid volume and compares the permeability quotient with a permeability threshold. The control unit then controls a cleaning unit to perform a cleaning process of the filter basket if the permeability quotient is below the permeability threshold.
