摘要: A method for determining the composition of a fluid by using measured properties of the fluid. One embodiment of the method of the current invention generally comprises: selecting a fluid property that has a response to fluid composition that is linear, or can be approximated as linear; measuring the selected fluid property at a series of specific time intervals; and plotting the measured property as a function of the selected property. In effect, plotting the measured property as a function of fluid composition in an arbitrary set of units. This allows for a in-situ qualitative evaluation of fluid composition by measuring a fluid property that has a known linear relationship to fluid composition. Another embodiment of the present invention further comprises, establishing the endpoints of contamination and plotting the measured properties through these endpoints. Once the endpoints have been established a quantitative evaluation of the fluid composition can be performed. One preferred fluid property that can be used is density.

摘要: An electronics module comprises an electronics assembly having a first connector and a second connector. The first and second connectors are disposed on opposite ends of the electronics assembly. A case encloses the electronics assembly. The first connector is accessible through a first side of the case and the second connector is accessible through a second side of the case. A locking tab is disposed on the case and is biased to an extended position. A sliding member is slidably coupled to the case and is operable to move the locking tab to a retracted position.

摘要: This application relates to a method for pellerizing and taking intensive measurements of a raw sample. The method includes homogenizing and pelletizing the sample that is to be subjected to compositional or intensive analysis. The raw sample is mixed with several solutions containing epoxies and activators based in carrier solutions or solvents, and ground to a fine powder or gel. The gel is partially dried and conformed to a pellet shape. The pellet is then cured such that the epoxy and activator solutions react and form a binding agent capable of maintaining the structural integrity of the sample pellet during intensive analysis. An intensive analysis instrument, such as LIBS, may then be used to ablate the surface of the pellet. The pellet provides consistent ablation of the sample material for accurate intensive measurements.

摘要: The present invention discloses a process for installing a floating platform to the ocean floor using a spoolable (preferably composite) tether, comprising installing the spooled tether onto the floating platform; towing the floating platform to a site for installation; unspooling the tether; connecting a bottom end connector of the tether to a foundation on the ocean floor; and connecting a top end connector of the tether to the floating platform. A preferred floating platform is a tension leg platform, and the invention includes a novel tension leg platform (TLP) comprising a spooled tether installed thereon. In a preferred embodiment the foundation is a suction anchor, and the suction anchor is connected to the bottom end connector prior to unspooling the tether and attached to the ocean floor after unspooling the tether. The floating platform may be uninstalled, moved and re-installed according to the invention.

摘要: A luminaire includes a white light LED light source emitting a light beam that that is filtered by first and second color filters. An optical device modifies the filtered light beam. A control system receives a commanded value for the optical device and responds by causing the optical device to move based on the commanded value; determining a Duv change in the light beam caused by the optical device; determining positions for the color filters based on the Duv change, a current correlated color temperature (CCT) isotherm value, and a current Duv value; and moving the color filters to their determined positions. The control system may alternatively receive a command with a Duv value and respond by determining color filters positions based on the received Duv value and a current CCT isotherm value; and moving the color filters to their determined positions.
