Abstract:
A protection circuit for protecting a rechargeable battery is provided. The protection circuit includes a voltage-threshold generating unit and a comparing unit. The voltage-threshold generating unit is for generating a threshold voltage. The comparing unit is for comparing the threshold voltage to the rechargeable battery voltage and outputting a charging enable signal or a charging disable signal according to the comparison result. The comparing unit outputs the charging enable signal if the amplitude of the threshold voltage is lower than that of the rechargeable battery, or outputs the charging disable signal as the amplitude of the threshold voltage is equal to or higher than that of the rechargeable battery. A battery charger apparatus using the protection circuit is also provided.
Abstract:
A scanning circuit includes n column wires, a ground column wire, n row wires, n*n keys, and n diodes. The column wires and the ground column wire cross the n row wires to form n*(n+1) intersections. The ground column wire having a terminal is for being connected to the high voltage source and the other terminal is grounded. A control unit includes n ports electrically connected to the row wires correspondingly. The diodes are set on n intersections of the matrix, and each diode has a positive terminal electrically connected to the corresponding row wire, and a negative terminal electrically connected to the corresponding numbered column wire. The n*n keys are set on the intersections except where the diodes are located, the n*n keys are connected across column wires, the ground column wire, and the n row wires correspondingly. A related method is also provided.
Abstract:
A row bar having a plurality of slider forming areas collocated and slider cutting areas formed between two adjacent slider forming areas respectively, the slider forming areas are eventually cut into individual sliders along the slider cutting areas respectively, each slider having a pole tip embedded therein and an air bearing surface pattern on an air bearing surface facing to a disk, and at least a regular measuring pattern with straight line is formed on one of the slider cutting areas, to serve as a frame of reference for measuring the position of the pole tip and the air bearing surface pattern. The present invention can improve the measuring accuracy, decrease the measuring error and, in turn, improve the performance of the slider.
Abstract:
An optical disc drive includes a housing, a disc tray, a connector, a spindle motor, an OPU, a motor drive, and a control circuit. The disc tray may slide into or out of the housing through its opening. The connector is installed on the housing for transmitting host signals to the disc tray. The control circuit is installed on the disc tray for processing the host signals, thereby operating the spindle motor and the OPU accordingly.
Abstract:
A headphone includes a hanger and two speaker units respectively disposed at the two ends of the hanger. Each speaker unit includes a first shell; a second shell engaged with the first shell, a first air passage being formed between the first shell and the second shell, a second air passage being formed on the second shell, the second air passage having an opening direction different from an opening direction of the first air passage; a cover engaged with the second shell and having a plurality of holes on the cover; and a speaker disposed between the first shell and the second shell. When the speaker outputs sound, airflows generated by the speaker are exhausted through the first air passage, the second air passage and the holes so that the amount of air exhaust is stable and the output audio is of high quality.
Abstract:
The present invention provides piperidin-4-yl azetidine derivatives, as well as their compositions and methods of use, that modulate the activity of Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) and are useful in the treatment of diseases related to the activity of JAK1 including, for example, inflammatory disorders, autoimmune disorders, cancer, and other diseases.
Abstract:
The present invention provides fused aryl and heteroaryl derivatives of Formula I: wherein X, V, Y, U, W, Z, R1, R2, Cy, and Ar are defined herein, that modulate the activity of phosphoinositide 3-kinases (PI3Ks) and are useful in the treatment of diseases related to the activity of PI3Ks including, for example, inflammatory disorders, immune-based disorders, cancer, and other diseases.
Abstract:
A method for improving readability of an optical disc includes: changing a first control parameter of an optical storage apparatus that accesses the optical disc and obtaining a plurality of associated values of an index corresponding to the readability of the optical disc for respective changed/unchanged values of the first control parameter; setting the first control parameter to be an optimal value out of the changed/unchanged values of the first control parameter according to the index; changing a second control parameter with the first parameter set to be the optimal value to obtaining a plurality of associated values of the index for respective changed/unchanged values of the second control parameter; and setting the second control parameter to be an optimal value according to the index. The control parameters having their individual optimal values are utilized for further control during decoding. In addition, an associated optical storage apparatus is further provided.

Abstract:
The static and dynamic characteristics of smoke are developed for extracting smoke pixels of an image and effective smoke detection. In static characteristic, a chromaticity-based analysis is employed to extract grayish pixels in the moving region from a monitored area. Then, a circumference-based disorder measurement in dynamic characteristic is developed to obtain the smoke pixels from the grayish pixels. To enhance the reliability of alarming, a fuzzy system is introduced to judge if the smoke will spread out by checking its growth-rate.
