Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus for determining resource quality based on resource competition. In an aspect, a method comprises: for each of a plurality of resource locators: generating first value for the resource locator that indicates, for a plurality of first sets of search results that each include the resource locator, a number of occurrences of other resource locators that were impressed and not selected when the resource locator was selected; generating a second value for the resource locator that indicates, for a plurality of second sets of search results that each include the resource locator, a number of occurrences of other resource locators that were selected when the resource locator was impressed and not selected; and generating, based on a difference between the first value and the second value, an adjustment factor for the resource locator for adjusting a score associated with the resource locator during a search operation.
Abstract:
In general, in one aspect, embodiments of the invention feature a computer-implemented method for providing input to a document ranking process for ranking a plurality of documents, the document ranking process taking as input a quality of result statistic for an individual document in the plurality of documents, the plurality of documents having been identified in response to a query, the quality of results statistic being for the query and the individual document. The method for providing input can include, for a first document identified as a search result of a user-submitted query, scoring one or more other queries based upon a similarity to the user-submitted query, each of the one or more other queries being different from the user-submitted query.
Abstract:
The present disclosure includes systems and techniques relating to ranking search results of a search query. In general, the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in a computer-implemented method that includes: receiving multiple features, including a first feature indicative of presentation bias that affects document result selection for search results presented in a user interface of a document search service; obtaining, based on the multiple features, information regarding document result selections for searches performed using the document search service; generating a prior model using the information, the prior model representing a background probability of document result selection given values of the multiple features; and outputting the prior model to a ranking engine for ranking of search results to reduce influence of the presentation bias.
Abstract:
In general, one aspect described can be embodied in a method for determining a classification for a query. The method can include receiving a request to determine whether to assign a classification to a first query, identifying a plurality of search entities that are associated with the first query based upon data associated with each of the plurality of search entities and the first query, and determining whether to assign the classification to the first query based upon classifications for the identified search entities.
Abstract:
Provided is a base station. The base station includes a transceiver, a frequency allocation unit, and an orthogonal code allocation unit. The transceiver communicates with a terminal. The frequency allocation unit allocates a frequency resource to the terminal through the transceiver. The orthogonal code allocation unit generates an orthogonal code index table including a plurality of orthogonal code combinations, and allocates one of the orthogonal code combinations included in the orthogonal code index table to each terminal, to which the frequency resource has been allocated for a service request of the terminal, through the transceiver not to multiply be allocated. At least one of a plurality of orthogonal codes included in the orthogonal code combination is orthogonal to at least one of a plurality of orthogonal codes included in an orthogonal code combination allocated to another terminal.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method for processing query information includes receiving data representative of a search query from a user search session. The method also includes identifying a plurality of search results based upon the search query. Each search result is associated with a plurality of user characteristics and data that represents requestor behavior relative to previously submitted queries associated with the respective search result. The method also includes ordering the plurality of user characteristics based upon the data that represents requestor behavior relative to previously submitted queries and the respective search result. The method also includes adjusting the ordered plurality of user characteristics based upon at least one predefined compatibility associated with the user characteristics. The method also includes ranking the search results based upon the adjusted plurality of user characteristics.
Abstract:
There are provided an optical lens and a light source module, and a street lamp having the same. The optical lens includes a concave dome shaped inner surface formed to have a similarly-oval shaped lower surface, and formed to include a plurality of light incident surfaces formed to be stepped along the inner surface thereof and stepped surfaces connecting the plurality of light incident surfaces to one another; and an outer surface formed to surround the inner surface.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a writing/reading control method of HD stream in a DVD recorder, by which HD broadcast signals are write in a DVD medium. The present invention includes the steps of storing a plurality of HD streams in the HDD by demodulating HD broadcast signals received from a tuner/demodulator, creating a stream file in a DVD medium to record a specific one of a plurality of the HD streams stored in the HDD, recording the specific HD stream in the stream file, opening to read the HD steam file recorded in the DVD medium, buffering the read HD stream file in the HDD, and reading the buffered HD stream file using a video decoder.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for identifying points-of-interest. In one aspect, a method includes identifying points-of-interest (POIs) associated with one or more of multiple, selected geographic areas, and determining, for each of the multiple geographic areas, a score associated with the identified POIs. The actions also include generating a combined score for each identified POI based on the determined scores associated with the respective POI, selecting a subset of the identified POIs based at least on the combined scores, and displaying a link to the POIs in the subset.
Abstract:
Provided is a method for operating a wireless terminal. In the method, an event is detected through a user interface. Location information is detected through a wireless channel in response to the event detection. The detected event information and the detected location information are outputted to the user interface.
