Abstract:
To maintain high productivity and performing high-grade processes while minimizing deviation of a sheet process position in a direction at a right angle to a sheet conveying direction whatever types of sheets are to be processed, timing for starting detection of an end position of each of the sheets is controlled so as to execute the detection of the end position of each of the sheets at a vicinity of a sheet processing position on the sheet at which a sheet process is executed.

Abstract:
A opening and closing control device for a cover provided at an opening includes an electric motor for actuating the cover to open and close the opening, at least two rotational number sensors for generating pulse signals which have different phases from one another based on a rotational number of the electric motor, and a position detector for detecting the position of the cover based on one of the pulse signals and for judging a moving direction of the cover in accordance with a signal level of one of the rotational number sensors when the other rotational number sensor detects an edge of the pulse signal.
Abstract:
An open/close control device for a movable lid is of a highly precise position detection ability by using only a sensor which issues a pulse train in response to a motor rotation amount. When the open/close control device is in the form of a drive unit 3 which controls opening and closing a sunroof, the drive unit 3 includes a motor 3 which drives the sunroof and a control device 10 having a microcomputer 13. The microcomputer 13 is fed with two pulse train signals from two Hall-ICs, respectively. The signals are in proportion to the rotation number of the motor 4 but are different in phase. On the basis of the pulse train signals, the microcomputer 13 counts a position counter 13 for indication of current position of the sunroof in view of the motor rotation direction.
Abstract:
A bed, in combination with a flush toilet, has a bed body (1) provided with an opening (2). The opening has a width which is sufficient to accommodate the hips of a sick or disabled person laying on the bed. The opening (2) can be opened and closed by a cover (4). The cover can be withdrawn from a retracted (open) position where it is accommodated on the back of the bed body (3) to close the opening (2). A flush toilet (8) is disposed below the opening (2). A toilet seat (8) is disposed in the opening and has a somewhat cylindrical excreta guide (9) for reliably guiding excreta into the flush toilet (8). The toilet seat (7) can be tilted about a vertical axis by a lift (10). Also, the toilet seat free end is tilted upward so as to be in close contact with the hips of the sick or disabled person.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus to which a developer storage container can be detachably mounted, includes: a reception unit arranged to receive information from the developer storage container; a first temperature detection unit provided in an inside of the image forming apparatus and arranged to detect a temperature of the inside of the image forming apparatus; a cooling unit arranged to cool the inside of the image forming apparatus; and a control unit arranged to determine on the basis of the received information whether second temperature detection unit is provided to the developer storage container, control the cooling unit on the basis of the detection result of the first temperature detection unit when the second temperature detection unit is not provided, and control the cooling unit on the basis of the detection results of the first and second temperature detection units when the second temperature detection unit is provided.
Abstract:
A technique for reducing downtime that accompanies the execution independently of adjustment processing for maintaining image quality and the execution of finishing processing relating to a printing medium. In order to apply the finishing processing to the printing medium in a finishing processing unit, an image forming apparatus to which this technique is applied sets a time between sheets that extends from end of image formation regarding a first sheet of the printing medium to start of image formation regarding a second sheet of the printing medium transported following the first sheet of the printing medium in the image forming unit, and executes adjustment processing, which is for maintaining image quality in the image forming unit, within the set time between sheets.
Abstract:
This invention provides an image forming apparatus capable of shortening the user's print waiting time as much as possible when it is determined that image adjustment is necessary during the image forming operation, and a control method therefor. To accomplish this, in a color image forming apparatus including a plurality of image forming stations which form toner images with a plurality of toners on the basis of a job, it is discriminated whether adjustment processing is necessary during a continuous image forming operation based on the job. If it is discriminated that adjustment processing is necessary, it is determined whether each of the image forming stations has a non-operating time enough to execute the discriminated adjustment processing during the image forming operation. The image forming station determined to have a non-operating time enough to execute adjustment processing executes the discriminated adjustment processing during the non-operating time.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus capable of efficiently performing an image forming processing even in a case where a post-processing apparatus performs a post-processing during a both-sides printing. A first time period needed by a first both-sides image forming processing and a second time period needed by a second both-sides image forming processing are computed in a case where a post-processing unit performs a post-processing on a recording sheet formed images on both sides thereof. The first time period and the second time period is compared, and any one of the first both-sides image forming processing and the second both-sides image forming processing is selected based on the comparison.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus in which surplus tabbed sheets produced in one set of output can be utilized for the next set of output, without requiring a user to perform a laborious task. In the image forming apparatus, a CPU calculates the number of tabbed sheet groups which will be used for one set of image formation and the number of tabbed sheets which will be used from among the last tabbed sheet group. Among the last tabbed sheet group, surplus tabbed sheets which will be left unused in the one set of image formation are determined. If the number of tabbed sheets is equal to or less than the number of the surplus tabbed sheets, at least one of the surplus tabbed sheets is used to carry out two sets of image formation.
