Abstract: An arc path forming unit and a direct current relay including same are illustrated. The arc path forming unit according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises multiple magnets. Each of the magnets is configured to form a magnetic field at a point where each stationary contact is located. Each of the magnets located adjacent to each stationary contact is configured such that the opposite surfaces thereof have different polarities. A current flowing through a stationary contact and a movable contact and a magnetic field formed by each of the magnets generate an electromagnetic force. The electromagnetic force travels in a direction away from the center of the direct current relay. Therefore, a generated arc travels in the direction of the electromagnetic force and is thus moved in a direction away from the center of the direct current relay. Accordingly, the direct current relay can be prevented from being damaged.

Abstract: An arc path forming unit and a direct current relay are disclosed. An arc path forming unit according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a magnet frame extending in a longitudinal direction; and a plurality of main magnet units disposed in the width direction of the magnet frame. The surfaces, which face each other, of the main magnet units have the same polarity. Therefore, magnetic fields that repel each other are generated in a space between the respective main magnet units. An electromagnetic force in the direction oriented toward the outside of the arc path forming unit is formed by means of the magnetic fields. Thus, a generated arc can move in the direction of the electromagnetic force so as to be stably extinguished. As a result, various members positioned in the center of the direct current relay are prevented from being damaged by the arc.

Abstract: A direct current relay comprises a magnetism forming unit accommodated in a frame unit. The magnetism forming unit comprises a first magnet member and a second magnet member. A magnetism strengthening member is provided between the first and second magnet member. The magnetism strengthening member strengthens the magnetic field formed between the first and second magnet member. Therefore, the flow of the magnetic field formed inside an arc chamber is strengthened so as to effectively form an arc extinguishing path. The magnetism strengthening member can apply an electromagnetic attractive force to a movable core. Therefore, the movable core receives the electromagnetic attractive force according to magnetization of a fixed core, and also the electromagnetic attractive force from the magnetism strengthening member. Thus, since a driving force for moving the movable core increases, the operation reliability of the movable core can be improved.
