    Abstract: A horticulture system comprises a reservoir, a growing array comprising a plurality of modular growing chambers, a sprayer system, and a drip system. Each said growing chamber comprises a suspension chamber with an opening to receive a plant container and an attachment member above the opening for the mounting of drip nozzles from the drip system. A growth channel located beneath the suspension chamber having a first end connected to an endcap or an upstream growing chamber, at least one opening for the insertion of one sprayer heads from the sprayer system, a cavity for the containment of plant roots, and a second end connected to a drain or a downstream growing chamber. There is a negative slope from the first end to the second end for the discharge of runoff water from the drip system and the sprayer system.

    Abstract: A tunable element of a tuning module is receptive to optical data channels of a multiplexed optical data signal, each optical data channel having a different respective wavelength. The tunable element is responsive to different stimuli such that multiple passbands of the tunable element are defined, each passband corresponding to a respective stimulus and including no more than one wavelength of the optical data channels. An optical detector communicates with the tunable element and is receptive to no more than one optical data channel from the tunable element at any given time, an output of the optical detector is an electrical data signal that corresponds to the optical data channel received by the optical detector from the tunable element. A controller communicates with the tunable element and tunes the tunable element from one optical data channel to the other by causing application of a corresponding stimulus to the tunable element.

    Abstract: A compactly foldable exercise apparatus is provided for performing the exercises of sit-ups and push-ups. An adjustably inclinable board provided with foot engaging means adjacent the forward end thereof is positioned generally above a base associated with track means carrying a pair of opposed handgrips. Locking means slideably engage each handgrip with said track means in a manner to facilitate adjustable spacing between said handgrips and to prevent twisting or tilting movement. The apparatus is adapted for performing sit-ups of varying difficulty of execution based upon the angle of inclination of said board, and is adapted for performing push-ups when said board is lowered to a position substantially parallel to said base.

    Abstract: A flashlight (1) having a control unit (4) with a push button (12) for activating the flashlight (1). The control unit (4) connects to a computer via USB port, whereby user-configurable control information is downloaded. A computer program running on the computer enables operating conditions of the flashlight to be selected by a user according to predetermined types of activation e.g. of the push button (12). The operating conditions are collated into operating instructions associated with the predetermined types of activation. The operating instructions are converted into byte code and downloaded to and stored on a memory in the control unit (4). Upon detecting a predetermined activation type, the control unit accesses the operating conditions and configures the flashlight accordingly.
