Solar cells include a substrate having a light collecting surface thereon and a P-N rectifying junction within the substrate. The P-N rectifying junction includes a base region of first conductivity type (e.g., p-type) and a semiconductor layer of second conductivity type extending between the base region and the light collecting surface. A trench is also provided, which extends through the semiconductor layer and into the base region. First and second electrodes are provided adjacent the light collecting surface. The first electrode is electrically coupled to the semiconductor layer and the second electrode is electrically coupled to the base region, at a location adjacent a bottom of the trench.

The present invention relates to an image quality evaluating device for using a color appearance model to evaluate image quality of a color area, and a method thereof. The image quality evaluating device realizes a color space corresponding to a color area by using information on color appearance, calculating a volume of the color space, and calculating clearness of the color area, viewing angle characteristics, gray level characteristics, and color differences in the color space.
Abstract:
A crystal liquid display and a method of manufacturing the same are disclosed. The liquid crystal display includes upper and lower substrates facing each other, a thin film transistor, a pixel electrode, and a passivation layer. The thin film transistor is provided at an intersection of a gate line and a data line on the lower substrate, and the gate line and the data line cross at right angles. The pixel electrode is provided in a pixel area defined by the gate line and the data line. The passivation layer covers the entire surface of the lower substrate, and includes an opening having an elevation difference surface on a predetermined portion thereof. A concave-convex pattern is provided along the elevation difference surface of the opening.

A liquid crystal display and a pre-charging method thereof for pre-charging data lines using a ESD circuit to simplify a circuit configuration are provided. In the method, video lines receiving video signals are floated in a pre-charge interval of time. A pre-charge voltage is supplied to the video lines floated via a static electricity proof circuit connected to the video lines. The pre-charge voltage on the video line is pre-charged by a demultiplexer for making a time-divisional driving of the data lines in a video charge interval of time.

A wired relay method for using a remote station and an apparatus thereof for a Radio over Fiber (RoF) wired relay system supporting a Time Division Duplexing (TDD) wireless communication service, which shares an Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA) for both uplink and downlink operations. The remote station includes a block for dividing each of a downlink optical signal carrying service data and an optical signal carrying transmission/reception control information of the RoF wired relay system, which are input from a base station, a gain controller for separating an uplink Radio Frequency (RF) signal input from an antenna or a portion of a downlink RF signal output from a High-Power Amplifier (HPA) and for monitoring the strength of the input and output RF signals in order to control a gain of the LNA. A converter mutually converts an optical signal and an RF signal, an amplifier amplifies the converted RF signal, and an RF signal flow controller automatically controlls uplink and downlink transmission paths of the amplified RF signal according to a transmission/reception status of the RoF wired relay system.

A method for synthesizing high purity silver particles and colloids without requiring the addition of either surfactants or reducing agents thereto, or requiring only a minimal amount thereof. The synthesizing process comprises: (i) a silver oxalate synthesizing process; (ii) a process of dispersing silver oxalate into an appropriate carrier; and {iii) a process of heating said silver oxalate dispersed into said carrier at a temperature of at least 100° C. Silver particles and colloids of various form factor and size may be synthesized depending upon the reaction conditions, the carrier, and the type of surfactant.

The structure includes a guide unit that is mounted on both sides of the switch cover; and guides the switch cover in such a manner that the right and left movements and gaps are prevented when the switch cover is opened; and a locking unit that is mounted on one side of a body housing, in which the locking member linked with the switch cover is locked or released.

An L-band light source is provided that has improved amplifying efficiency and stabilized output power. The L-band light source comprises: a gain medium having first and second sides, and configured to generate an L-band amplified spontaneous emission (ASE); a first pump light source to generate first pumping light; a first wavelength selective coupler to supply the first pumping light to the gain medium; and a first reflector to reflect a part of ASE outputted to the fist side of the gain medium, the first reflector having a predetermined reflection.
Abstract:
The seat folding device of a vehicle includes a seat frame that linearly slides along an anteroposterior direction of the vehicle on a guide rail fixed to a floor panel of the vehicle. Two folding brackets are pivotally coupled at a front middle portion of the seat frame. A tilting bracket is coupled at the lower surface thereof to one end of the folding bracket by a hinge. A seat cushion is disposed at an upper side of the tilting bracket. The present invention thus constructed prevents deterioration of the appearance of the seat device and optimizes the stability of the vehicle, convenience of the user and marketability of the vehicle.

A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal layer interposed between opposing substrates. One of the substrates includes a conductive black matrix layer formed within a display region and formed in non-display region of the device. A black matrix island formed at the same time as the black matrix layer is isolated from the black matrix layer in the non-display region. A color filter layer of red, green and blue color filters is formed in the display region. A common electrode is formed on the black matrix layer and on the black matrix island. The common electrode formed on the black matrix island is insulated from the black matrix island by an insulator. Silver dots in the non-display region are respectively connected with the black matrix layer and the common electrode on the black matrix island.
