Abstract:
The invention relates to screening assays for the identification of agents which modulate the activity of polypeptides which affect the apoptotic activity of the tumour suppressor protein p53 and including gene therapy vectors comprising p53 and antibodies that bind phosphorylated epitopes.
Abstract:
A test apparatus adapted for testing different electronic devices is provided. The apparatus provides a standard interface for operating with the different electronic devices. The interface provides an optional interface region, an optional test command region, and a selected test command region. The optional interface region is for displaying optional interfaces. The optional test command region is for displaying optional test commands relating to an interface selected in the optional interface region. The selected test command region is for displaying test commands selected from the optional test command region. In response to a selection on the user interface, the apparatus recognizes the interface and the test commands selected, and transmits instruction sets corresponding to the test commands through the interface recognized to the corresponding electronic device, thereby driving the electronic device performing required tests.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a polypeptide, or part thereof, which inhibits the apoptotic activity of the tumour suppressor protein p53 and including screening methods to identify agents which interfere with the activity of said polypeptide.
Abstract:
A display device includes a detachable housing, a main body, and an interface unit. The interface unit electrically connects the detachable housing with the main body. The detachable housing includes an OSD unit for storing a plurality of OSD data; a command input unit for generating and sending signals in response to operations of a user; a processing unit for identifying operations of the user, and, if required by the operations, performing predetermined function to obtain OSD data, generating a corresponding control signal, and transmitting the OSD data and the control signal to the main body through the interface unit. The main body displays an OSD menu corresponding to the OSD data and adjusts the parameters of the display device, corresponding to the control signals.
Abstract:
A display device testing system includes a video signal outputting apparatus (10), a remote controller (20), a back board (30) and a display device (40). The video outputting apparatus outputs video signals which contain one or more testing samples provided for testing the display device to the display device. The remote controller generates control signals to control the display device to display the testing samples. The back board includes an interface. The interface receives the control signals from the controller, combines the control signals with the video signals into mixed signals, and transmits the mixed signals to the display device to obtain a test result. The test result is sent back to the remote controller via the back board for evaluating the performances of the display device. A related method is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A computer-automated system and method identify text in a first “citing” court case, near a “citing instance” (in which a second “cited” court case is cited), that indicates the reason(s) for citing (RFC). The automated method of designating text, taken from a set of citing documents, as reasons for citing (RFC) that are associated with respective citing instances of a cited document, has steps including: obtaining contexts of the citing instances in the respective citing documents (each context including text that includes the citing instance and text that is near the citing instance), analyzing the content of the contexts, and selecting (from the citing instances' context) text that constitutes the RFC, based on the analyzed content of the contexts. A related computer-automated system and method selects content words that are highly related to the reasons a particular document is cited, and gives them weights that indicate their relative relevance. Another related computer-automated system and method forms lists of morphological forms of words. Still another related computer-automated system and method scores sentences to show their relevance to the reasons a document is cited. Also, another related computer-automated system and method generates lists of content words. In a preferred embodiment, the systems and methods are applied to legal (especially case law) documents and legal (especially case law) citations.
Abstract:
We describe screening methods for agents which modulate the interaction of p53 activator/inhibitor binding proteins with polymorphic p53 polypeptide variants, cells expressing combinations of said activator/inhibitor proteins and p53 variants; diagnostic assays to determine the genotype of an individual with respect to said p53 polymorphism; and therapeutic compositions for use in the treatment of conditions which would benefit from a stimulation of apoptosis.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses deuterated benzopyran compounds having structure features as shown in Formula (I), or pharmaceutically acceptable salts or stereoisomers thereof, or prodrug molecules thereof. With excellent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects and the capability to inhibit growth of tumor cells, such compounds are novel COX-2 selective inhibitors. The compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof disclosed by the present application can be applied in preparing anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs and drugs for treating or preventing tumors.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a mobile phone for authenticating Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card and a SIM card authentication method adapted for the mobile phone. Once a SIM card is inserted into the mobile phone, the mobile phone acquires a phone number associated with the inserted SIM card and identifies whether the acquired phone number has been stored in the non-erasable programmable memory of the mobile phone. If yes, the user is legal and can use the mobile phone, if no, then the user is illegal and cannot use the mobile phone. Therefore, the mobile phone protects and hides stored information from the user.
Abstract:
A computerized method determines similarities between a first image and a second image. The first image is converted into a first grayscale image, and the second image is converted into a second grayscale image, where a number of pixels of the second image is not less than a number of pixels of the first image. Each pixel of the first grayscale image is matched with a pixel of the second grayscale image to create a pixel pair sequence. A similarity value indicating the similarities between the first image and the second image is calculated according to the grayscale value of each pixel in the pixel pair sequence S.
