Abstract:
At time to start learning feed-forward control and under the status that servo-drive is not put in execution, a positioning error of repeatable runout is detected by means of a positioning error of repeatable runout operation section and on the basis of a value of the positioning error of repeatable runout, a drive pattern and drive interval of idling are determined by means of a feed-forward data operation section. The drive pattern is stored in a feed-forward data memory and is outputted as feed-forward data in synchronism with the rotation of a spindle during drive interval, thus performing idling of a fine-movement actuator. After the idling has ended, control initiation sequence is resumed to carry out learning of feed-forward control.
Abstract:
A magnetic head-positioning system to accurately test a magnetic disk and a magnetic head, comprises a plurality of hinges attached on an end portion of a linear driving element and disposed on both sides of a center line of the linear driving element, which is in parallel with an extension-shrinkage direction of the linear driving element, and an arm having a length longer than a distance between a plurality of hinge joint portions, the plurality of the hinge joint portions each of which join the hinge with a root portion of the arm and which are disposed on both sides of a center line of the arm which is in parallel with a longitudinal direction of the arm. The arm has an extremity portion on which a head gimval assembly is detachably attached and this head gimval assembly is positioned.
Abstract:
Systems, methodologies, media, and other embodiments associated with efficiently computing document similarity are described. One exemplary system embodiment includes logic to produce a gram from a string and logic to identify candidate documents based on identifying matches between query grams and document grams stored in an inverted index that relates grams to documents. The example system may also include logic to selectively partially reconstruct a candidate document from entries in the inverted index and logic to compute an edit distance between a string associated with a query and a string associated with the partially reconstructed candidate document. The example system may also include a signal logic configured to provide a signal corresponding to the edit distance.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with selectively acquiring and utilizing query statistics are described. One example method includes selectively acquiring statistics associated with search queries submitted to a search process during a sample period. The statistics may be associated with an index and tokens associated with the index and search queries. The method may also include selecting tokens and/or queries to optimize based, at least in part, on the statistics. In one example, whether and/or how the tokens and/or queries are optimized may depend on estimating index fragmentation based, at least in part, on the statistics.
Abstract:
A switch includes a reference log storage table for storing a plurality of reference logs for performing normal connection processing between network nodes, a connection candidate log search program for searching for a connection candidate log from among a plurality of reference logs based on a failure log acquired when a connection failure occurs between network nodes; and a re-connection program for re-connecting the network nodes by using the connection candidate log.
Abstract:
Polyalkenyl ether is produced by polymerizing alkenyl ether represented by the following general formula (I): CHR1═CH(OR2) (I) wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R2 represents a monovalent organic group, and R2 contains a silicon atom or at least one atom selected from the group consisting of elements from group 15 to group 17, in the presence of a halide of an element other than Al, or an organometallic compound of an element other than Al, and a nonionic oxygen-containing or nonionic nitrogen-containing organic compound.
Abstract:
An information processing system comprises an information processing apparatus, a switch, and a storage device, wherein the first communication ports and the third communication ports are connected to the second communication ports. When a response from a storage device to a data input/output request is not received within a predetermined time period, the information processing apparatus transmits a second and a third data input/output requests from the first communication port on the first communication channel, and transmits an inspection request to the switch to inspect a second communication port on the first communication channel. When responses to the second and third data input/output requests are not received within a predetermined time period, and a response to the inspection request is received within a predetermined time period, the information processing apparatus determines that there is a fault in the first communication port on the first communication channel.
