2-R1,3-R4,4-R2,4-R3,5-(O=)PYRAZOLIDINE
WHEREIN:
R1 STANDS FOR ARYL INCLUDING SUBSTITUTED ARYL, EACH OF R2 AND R3 (THE SAME OR DIFFERENT) STANDS FOR HYDROGEN, AND ALKYL GROUP, AN ARALKYL GROUP, OR AN ARYL GROUP, AND R4 STANDS FOR HYDROGEN, ALKYL, ALKOXY, ARALKOXY OR ARYLOXY.
BETTER QUALITY TRANSFER IMAGES AT SUBSTANTIALLY LOWER ILLUMINATION LEVELS ARE REALIZED.
Abstract:
Electrophotographic recording process wherein a pattern of increased conductivity is produced image-wise in a photoconductive insulating recording layer using as the essential photoconductive compound guinolin-2-one, quinolin-4-one, certain analogs and structural derivatives thereof, as well as the bis forms thereof, dispersed in an insulating binder. At least about 10 percent by weight of the recording element is constituted by the photoconductive compound and a spectral sensitizing agent for the photoconductor can be included. This class of photoconductors is also useful in the production of phosphor patterns on cathoderay tube screens.
Abstract:
Light-sensitive photographic materials are provided in the light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer or in a separate colloid layer in water-permeable relationship with the emulsion layer, with a tanning development agent precursor constituted by an O-dihydroxybenzene derivative having at least one of its hydroxyl groups esterified to form a halogenated acyloxy group or etherified to form an Alpha -tetrahydropyranyloxy group. Such precursor compounds are stable during storage and do not result in discoloration of the emulsion layer. On treatment with an alkaline activating liquid, a tanning photographic developing agent is released. The O-dihydroxybenzene derivatives per se are also disclosed.

THE ADDITIVE CAN BE ADDED TO THE DEVELOPING LIQUID FOR THE DEVELOPMENT STAGE OF THE REVERSAL PROCESS, OR BY WAY OF ANOTHER PROCESSING LIQUID FOR WETTING THE MATERIAL BEING PROCESSED PRIOR TO THE DEVELOPMENT WHERE THE REVERSAL PROCESS UTILZES PLURAL DEVELOPMENT STAGES THE ADDITIVE IS PREFERABLY APPLIED BY WAY OF THE FINAL DEVELOPING LIQUID OR ANOTHER PROCESSING LIQUID APPLIED PRIOR TO THE FINAL DEVELOPMENT STEP.

PHOTOGRAPHIC LIGHT-SENSITIVE SILVER HALIDE EMULSIONS ARE DESCRIBED WHICH INCLUDE A COBALT (II) OR A MANGANESE (II) CHELATE OF A (POLY) AMINO-(POLY)CARBOXYLIC ACID IN ACID FORM OR IN THE FORM OF A WATER-SOLUBLE SALT. THESE MATERIALS EXERT AN EXCELLENT STABILIZING AND FOG-INHIBITING ACTION UPON THE PHOTOGRAPHIC LIGHT-SENSITIVE MATERIALS.
