摘要: Systems and methods for improving perceived image quality of an electronic display communicatively coupled to an image data source that outputs a synchronization control signal, which indicates when an image frame is expected to stop being written, based on a source clock signal. The electronic display includes a display pixel row, a display driver, and a timing controller. The timing controller determines a target scan time to be used to write the image frame to the display pixel row and instructs the display driver to write the image frame to the display pixel row based on the target scan time and a display block signal, in which the timing controller instructs the display driver to continue writing the image frame to display pixel row after the electronic display receives the synchronization control signal when the synchronization control signal is received before the target scan time is reached.

摘要: An electronic device that includes a display is provided. The display may have a brightness that is controlled using a series of cascaded digital-to-analog converter circuits. The display may be calibrated at a series of predetermined display brightness settings. For display brightness settings that fall between two consecutive display brightness settings in the series of predetermined display brightness settings, voltage interpolation operations may be performed to obtain the corresponding display brightness settings. Performing voltage interpolations instead of digital brightness setting interpolation helps minimize luminance jumps and unexpected color shifts when adjusting the brightness of the display.

摘要: An electronic device may have a variable refresh rate display. Static content may be displayed on the display at a lower refresh rate than moving content to conserve power. The display may include an array of pixels. Display driver circuitry in the display may load image data into rows of the pixels. The display driver circuitry may have digital-to-analog converter circuitry that supplies data signals to the array. The display driver circuitry may respond to a variable refresh rate control signal that is asserted and deasserted depending on whether static or moving image content is to be displayed. The display driver circuitry may use the digital-to-analog converter circuitry to apply a time-varying scaling factor to the image data. The magnitude of the scaling factor may be adjusted during transitions between refresh rates to help suppress luminance variations that might otherwise result in flickering on the display.

摘要: A system, method, and device for increasing uniformity between displays incorporating components from different manufacturers. Incorporating components from different manufactures in different displays may cause the different displays to appear differently even under similar conditions. By modifying the operating parameters used to drive the display according to performance characteristics for various conditions, displays incorporating components from different manufacturers may be configured to produce a substantially similar picture under similar conditions. The various conditions may include stimulus information, such as temperature or touch activity.

摘要: One embodiment of an apparatus to control and sense a voltage through a single node can include a comparator to monitor single node voltage, a transistor to discharge voltage through the single node and control logic. The control logic can have at least two operational phases when actively controlling the voltage through the single node. In a first phase, the control logic can configure the comparator to determine if the single node voltage is greater than a reference voltage. In a second phase, the control logic can configure the transistor to discharge voltage through the single node when the comparator has previously indicated that the single node voltage is greater than a reference voltage. The control logic can alternatively execute first and second phases to discharge the voltage to a predetermined level.
