摘要： An exposing device which radiates light on a photoconductor drum which rotates, thereby executing exposure, includes a light-emitting element unit including light-emitting element having an emission area which emits light that is generated, the emission area having a rectangular shape with a long side along a direction perpendicular to a rotational direction of the photoconductor drum, and a short side along the rotational direction, a lens unit which focuses the light, which is emitted from the emission area, on a peripheral surface of the photoconductor drum, thereby executing exposure, and forming on the peripheral surface a beam spot, and a driving circuit which causes the light-emitting element to emit light, thereby making a width of the shape of the beam spot in a direction along the rotational direction close to a width of the beam spot in a direction perpendicular to the rotational direction.

摘要： A color image forming method and apparatus using larger microcapsules each of which contains a plurality of kinds of smaller microcapsules scattered within the larger microcapsule, reacting substances that are mixed with each other to perform a coloring reaction being scattered inside and outside the smaller microcapsule. A protective wall of each smaller microcapsule is broken with a corresponding predetermined ultrasonic stimulus depending upon color component information to thereby cause the reacting substances to diffuse with each other to perform a coloring reaction and hence image printing. The conditions for breaking the protective walls of the respective smaller microcapsules that contain a color former component vary from smaller microcapsule to smaller microcapsule, or are determined depending upon the outer shapes, materials and thickness of the protective walls of the smaller microcapsules.

摘要： A handwritten data input device has a coordinate detection tablet for detecting writing data input by handwriting using an input pen and a program storage medium. When a predetermined preprocess is required for an input process to accept writing data input by handwriting from the tablet, useless handwritten input can be effectively avoided when the preprocess has not been completed. In the handwritten data input device, a CPU determines whether the preprocess has been completed when the input pen approaches the tablet and, if the preprocess has not been completed, drives a buzzer to generate an alarm tone, thereby notifying the operator that the handwritten input is invalid in advance.

The system includes detection of a peripheral temperature of the printing head, detection of a variation of a temperature within the printing head, count of a number of times of ejection of the ink, performance of a suction recovery operation for sucking and discharging at least the ink from the printing head through the ejection openings, set of a timing for a next suction recovery operation based on the peripheral temperature of the printing head, the temperature variation within the printing head, and the number of times of ejection of the ink, correction of the number of times of ejection of the ink for setting the timing for the next suction recovery operation based on a difference between the peripheral temperature of the printing head and the temperature variation within the printing head, performance of preparatory ejection for ejecting the ink through the ejection openings toward an object other than the printing medium, and set of a timing for a next preparatory ejection based on the peripheral temperature of the printing head and the temperature variation within the printing head.

摘要： When the color printing is performed using a recording head arranged such that number of nozzles for discharging black ink is greater than the number of nozzles for discharging inks of other colors, the use frequency of some nozzles among all the nozzles for discharging the black ink is higher, so that image unevenness may arise when transferred to the black printing. The present invention relates to an ink jet recording method and an ink jet recording apparatus in which the image unevenness often seen in the black printing involving the use of more nozzles than other colors, and the blur of recorded image seen in the image having black images adjacent color images located are reduced.

The apparatus includes a recovery operation device for effecting a recovery operation for recovering a discharge condition of a recording head to be mounted to the apparatus, a timer for clocking an elapsed time from a predetermined operation, a discriminating device for discriminating a recording device to be mounted, a memory for memorizing data recording an elapsed time from a previous recovery operation for each of the plurality of kinds of recording devices, a calculating device for calculating an elapsed time of the recording device to be mounted from a previous recovery operation, based on an elapsed time clocked by the timer and data stored in the memory, a switch for switching between an operation state and a non-operation state of the apparatus, a back-up device for backing up the timer and the memory, even when the apparatus is not in operation, the back-up device also backing up the timer and the memory for a recording device, of the plurality of kinds of recording devices, not mounted to the apparatus, and a recovery control device for controlling the recovery operation by the recovery operation device by comparing the elapsed time from the previous recovery operation with a predetermined reference time for the recording device to be mounted.
