A method for determining the driver torque setpoint uses inputs from a drive pedal sensor, which senses the pedal position of a drive pedal. Depending on at least one switching parameter, different modes of calculation are activated, thus enabling the pedal position to be assigned to the driver torque setpoint. After the switchover from an old mode of calculation to a new mode of calculation, the driver torque setpoint is progressively adjusted, starting from the driver torque setpoint under an old interpretation of the pedal position, corresponding to the old set of characteristics, towards the driver torque setpoint under a new interpretation of the pedal position, corresponding to the new set of characteristics, and specifically in dependence on the time graph of the pedal position and simultaneously as a function of time, disregarding the time graph of the pedal position.

A method for a fill level measurement in accordance with the running time principle, which functions dependably over a long period of time, is provided, having a fill level measuring device with an ultrasonic sensor for transmitting and receiving ultrasound, wherein a repeated check of a resonance frequency of the ultrasonic sensor is performed, in the course of which the ultrasonic sensor is briefly excited to oscillate, following the excitation a signal received by the ultrasonic sensor is picked up, and the actual resonance frequency of the ultrasonic sensor is determined by means of the received signal in that the received signal is digitized and supplied to a digital signal processor, a Fourier transformation of the digitized received signal is performed in the signal processor, a maximum of the Fourier-transformed received signal is determined as a function of the frequency, a frequency at which the maximum occurs is stored as the actual resonance frequency, and during measuring operations the ultrasonic sensor is excited by the digital signal processor by means of the last determined actual resonance frequency.

The compensating elements include a flap edge which is applied to the flap by assembly injection molding after the flap has cooled, thereby decreasing any gap produced between the flap and a surrounding frame by shrinkage of the flap. In addition the flap has a flap shaft which can be journaled in the frame through a conical region on the shaft such that axial shrinkage of the shaft to produce a mounting which is free of play. This construction makes it unnecessary to use additional sealing elements at the mounting locations of the flap, and the flap is also prevented from vibrating in its mounting which, in a worst case scenario, could lead to destruction of the flap.

A method for the production of a knitted material and a warp knitting machine for realizing the method is being described by which longitudinal conveyors are driven in such a manner so that the longitudinal conveyors are driven at least partially intermittently and/or continuously with at least at times varying speeds so that the weft threads are being guided into the area of the knitting needles according to a pattern and at arbitrary points in time and one after the other in arbitrarily desired numbers which will result in an indefinitely long and freely selectable weft thread pattern repeat. According to a further aspect of the invention an arrangement is being described in which the arrangement includes a warp knitting machine having a separate frame. On the frame, that is, independent from the warp knitting machine there is arranged a weft thread insertion system having a servo motor drive including an associated weft carriage and a weft carriage guide, weft thread off-set rakes having their own servo motor drive and longitudinal conveyors with their drive as well as a longitudinal conveyor frame. The drive for the longitudinal conveyors, however, is obtained independently from the machine drive but is computer controlled so that the longitudinal conveyors execute a movement, at least between individual weft threads, at least partially intermittently and/or continuously with at least at times varying speeds.

In a method for measuring lift of a valve needle and for adjusting the volume media flow of a valve, easily focused, high-energy radiation is used, which permits a contact-free measuring operation. The high-energy radiation is directed at the valve-closure member that is permanently joined to the valve needle in the installed valve. By performing a differential measurement, thus a measurement in both end positions of the valve needle, the lift of the valve needle can be determined and, thus, corrected. The measurement is performed on a dry valve. The method is particularly suited for electromagnetically actuated fuel-injection valves of mixture-compressing internal-combustion engines having externally supplied ignition.
