摘要:
The present invention is directed to a geotextile fabric including a plurality of wicking yarns each having a plurality of fibers with inter-fiber voids therebetween; wherein the inter-fiber voids of the plurality of wicking yarns has a water flow of about 0.05 milliliters per day per denier (ml/day/denier) to about 1.0 milliliters per day per denier. Further, the present invention is directed to a method of making such geotextile fabric.

The invention relates to an intermediate product intended for the production of a composite part in combination with a resin matrix, formed by at least two unidirectional sets of reinforcing yarns, the yams of each set extending in a different direction, whereby the sets are interlinked by means of stitching or knitting using at least one stitching or knitting yarn. The invention is characterized in that the stitching or knitting yarn has a yarn count of less than or equal to 30 dTex, preferably less than or equal to 25 dTex, in accordance with standard EN ISO 2060.

A spacer textile material has at least a portion of multiple tensile strands located between a first layer and a second layer of the spacer textile material where the first layer and second layer have been joined together to form channels in which the tensile strands move freely. In one or more locations, a first tensile strand and a second tensile overlap at an intersection region. Further, the spacer textile material may be incorporated into an article of footwear.
摘要:
A multiaxial non-crimp fabric comprising at least two superimposed layers of multifilament reinforcing yarns arranged within the layers parallel to each other and abutting parallel together. The reinforcing yarns within one layer as well as adjacent layers are connected and secured against each other by sewing threads forming stitches proceeding parallel to and separated from each other at a stitch width w, the sewing threads form stitches with a stitch length s, and the zero-degree direction of the non-crimp fabric is defined by the sewing threads. The reinforcing yarns of the layers are symmetrically arranged in respect to the zero-degree direction of the non-crimp fabric and form an angle α to the zero-degree direction, the angle not being equal to 90° or 0°, and the sewing threads have a linear density from 10 to 35 dtex.

A geotextile for sediment dewatering and containment has a pattern of oriented warp fibers positioned substantially parallel to each other, a pattern of oriented weft inserted fibers positioned substantially parallel to each other and substantially perpendicular to the oriented warp fibers, a nonwoven fleece, and oriented knitting fibers that interconnect the warp fibers, the weft fibers, and the nonwoven fleece as a knitted structure. Because of the knitted configuration, the load bearing warp fibers and weft fibers remain substantially straight rather than interlaced as in a woven product. Consequently, the load bearing warp fibers and weft fibers take up stress immediately, thereby giving higher performance at lower strain. Because the load bearing warp fibers and weft fibers are substantially straight, they also retain their permeability under loading. Since more water flows through and from the geotextile, even when fully loaded, the dewatering process is both faster and safer to complete
摘要:
A reinforced fabric that includes a first fiber group and a thread. The first fiber group includes a plurality of fiber sets positioned substantially parallel to one another. Each of the fiber sets includes a plurality of fibers. The thread is formed of at least one strand of material. The thread has an outer surface that is formed of a material having a melting point that is less than the melting point of the fibers in the fiber sets. The thread is stitched about the fiber sets to at least partially maintain a position of the fiber sets relative to one another. The thread forms a plurality of heat created permanent closed loop structures in the reinforced fabric. At least one of the loop structures encircles at least one fiber set. At least one of the fibers in the fibers sets is not strongly bonded to the thread that encircles the fiber set.

A method of producing a non-crimp fabric and a non-crimp fabric comprising a layup of fabric plies stitched together by a thread, at least part of which is fusible, is provided. The method can include heating the stitched plies to soften or melt the fusible thread. The use of fusible thread can act as an in situ binder within the non-crimp fabric and tension created by the unfused stitching may create channels for matrix resin infusion during manufacture.

This disclosure generally pertains to a method for manufacturing a distributed optical fiber scrim comprising a functional optical fiber, the functional optical fiber scrim thus manufactured, and composites in which an optical fiber scrim is incorporated. The present disclosure describes a variety of textile scrims, particularly adhesively bonded nonwoven scrim materials, each comprising at least one optical fiber with a continuous path across at least the length or width of the fabric. Such optical fiber scrims may be useful as sensor components (for example, as a detector of breakage, strain, pressure, or torque), as illumination components (for example, in a variety of light-providing applications), or as data-distribution components, either alone or in combination with other materials, such as fabrics, films, foams, and the like.

A mat useful for reinforcing composite materials is made up of at least first and second sets of fibers, the first set of fibers laid as a ply in spaced apart parallel relationship in the direction of construction and the second set laid as a ply in spaced apart parallel relationship perpendicular to the direction of construction. These fibers define interstices, into which a continuous filament is knitted to provide stability. The filament has a core portion and a sheath portion, the sheath portion having a lower melting point than the core portion. The sheath portion is thermally fusible to form a plurality of closed loops in which the respective sets of fibers are entrapped. The fibers are glass or glass rovings and the filament is a polyester, the core portion being a high-viscosity poly(ethylene terephthalate) and the sheath portion being a low-viscosity poly(ethylene terephthalate).
