In this manner, the operator of the vehicle obtains information about, at the least, which future driving track his vehicle will move on if the current vehicle orientation is maintained, and with consideration for characteristic parameters of the vehicle.

A linkage of these signals (SL, SR, SB) with further transducer signals and a method for automatic adaptation of the regulating characteristic by varying the hystereses and idle times of the regulators (V1, V1) is disclosed.The regulating apparatus is used in harvesting and threshing combines when low-height crops are to be mowed and when the ground is bumpy and soft.
