According to one embodiment, a collar frame (202) with a collar adapted (204) to receive a bar (270) of an orthopedic external fixation system such that the collar may be moved linearly or rotationally about the bar is coupled to a guide frame (224) including a bore (232) through which a fixation element (266) of the external fixation system may be inserted. The coupling between the collar frame and the guide frame allows for them to rotate about at least one axis relative to each other. In one embodiment, the collar frame and the guide frame may rotate about three axes relative to each other.

A network system includes a host network communicatively coupled to an E911 database management system, a network access device, and a VoIP telephone communicatively coupled to an input port of the network access device. The network access device is adapted to assign a physical location identifier to an input port, to authenticate the VoIP telephone, wherein the authentication includes receiving a unique device identifier from the VoIP telephone, and to transmit the location identifier and the unique device identifier to the E911 database management system. The E911 database management system is permitted to store the physical location identifier in association with the unique device identifier.

    摘要: A one-piece backing and support assembly, for use in mounting photographs and the like, includes a flat backing panel having an elongate support leg partly cut out from the panel, and two stays on either side of the leg, also partly cut out from the panel and integrally connected at their lower ends to the panel and at their upper ends to side tabs on the support leg, intermediate its ends. The upper end of the support leg is detachably engageable with partly cut out tags on the panel located to hold the support leg and stay in positions where they each extend angularly away from the panel so as to support it at an angle on a horizontal surface. Integrally formed at one side of the backing panel is an apertured frame panel which is folded across the backing panel and secured, leaving an edge slot through which a photograph may be inserted between the panels, so as to be visible through the aperture in the frame panel.

    摘要: A modular intramedullary nail includes three connectable sections that are connectable end to end. The three sections include an upper proximal nail component having an open ended bore. The second section is a central nail section that is an elongated curved nail component having an open ended longitudinal bore. The third section is a lower distal nail component having an elongated open ended longitudinal bore. The nail components are connected and the end using corresponding conical socket and conical projecting end portions of adjoining end nail components that can be fitted together and secured upon impact. Upon assembly, the connections are self orienting, providing corresponding tooled "flat" portions adjacent the respective conical socket and conical projecting end portions of the nail components. This interlocking tooled flats align and abut upon assembly so that the adjoining nail components only align in one relative rotational position. The assembled nail thus provides an elongated continuous open ended bore that receives a cannulated fastener. The fastener extends the full length of the longitudinal bore of the assembled three nail sections. An upper enlarged head portion of the cannulated fastener grips the proximal nail component. The distal end portion of the cannulated fastener has external threads which engage corresponding internal threads within the bore of the distal nail component.

    摘要: A spinal fixation system includes an elongated rod sized to extend between at least two vertebrae and a number of anchor devices for anchoring the rod to the spine. The anchor devices include a bone engaging fastener having a head defining a spherical socket. A ball insert is configured to be placed within the socket and rotated so that a spherical surface of the ball insert is juxtaposed with the spherical surface of the socket. The insert has a first dimension less than the socket opening and a second dimension that upon rotation causes the insert to be captively retained in the socket. The anchor device further includes a yoke defining a yoke channel for receiving the rod and including a stem that is engaged to the ball insert when the insert is captured within the socket. A sleeve is disposed between the yoke channel and the fastener head for supporting the rod thereon. A set screw is threaded into the yoke channel for clamping the rod against the sleeve. The set screw further operates to draw the ball insert into clamped engagement within the socket.

The surgeon's device can send a request for a template of a biomedical implant, and can access tools to edit the template. The response can further include generating a notice if the edited template falls outside of an acceptable range, or if the edited template is similar to the design of a standard biomedical implant. There can also be provided a manufacturing facility that can manufacture the implant and send the implant to the surgeon.
