Abstract: An apparatus of an Access and Mobility Function (AMF) comprises one or more baseband processors to process a request from a new AMF for a user equipment (UE) context transfer for a UE registered to the AMF via a first access type, wherein UE context transfer request includes an indication of a second access type for the UE to register with the new AMF, and to determine whether an entire UE context should be returned to the new AMF based on the second access type. The apparatus can include a memory to store the request.

This may include considering cells associated with a forbidden public land mobile network for the cell selection, or excluding cells associated with the home public land mobile network of the wireless device that are unavailable, for example due to the disaster condition, among various possibilities.

Abstract: A primary device may run a software application requiring a compute task. The primary device may receive statistics from a set of secondary devices over wireless communication links. The primary device may process the statistics to determine whether the compute task will be offloaded to the secondary devices or performed locally. The primary device may generate a distribution scheme for the secondary devices based on the statistics. This may involve modeling first delays associated with transmission of signals from the primary device to the secondary devices, second delays associated with transmission of compute results from the secondary devices to the primary device, and third delays associated with processing resources of the secondary devices. The optimized distribution scheme may minimize overall runtime of the compute task given the modeled delays, scheduling grants for the secondary devices, and a radio resource allocation for the secondary devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods of protecting an initial NAS message are described. The NAS message is encrypted using the home PLMN public key during initial registration with the network using a registration request message. An AMF of the serving PLMN sends a serving PLMN public key which is then used to encrypt information including an S-NSSAI of later initial NAS messages after initial registration is completed. The S-NSSAI may not be sent in the later initial NAS message if the S-NSSAI is provided at an access stratum level. The RRC message may contain an indication that the S-NSSAI is encrypted using the serving PLMN public key.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide for controlling the derivation of QoS rules in the UE by flexibly defining the scope of packet header fields over which packet filter derivation is performed. The scope of packet header fields for derivation of QoS rules may be provided by the network to the UE upon PDU Session establishment or modification. For PDU Session of IP type, the network indicates to the UE whether the scope of RQoS includes both the Source/Destination IP address pair and the Source/Destination Port numbers, or only the former. For PDU Session of Ethernet type, the network indicates to the UE whether the scope of RQoS includes both the Source/Destination MAC address pair and the IEEE 802.1Q tag, or only the former. The UE may indicate to the network whether it supports the flexible scope of packet filters for RQoS for a PDU session.

Abstract: A network device or component such as an access node (AN) can operate to provide a request to obtain a network slice of a network slice as a service (NSaaS) to provide a communication service on the network slice for an end-user device. In response to obtaining the network slice, a network slice customer (NSC) Service identity (ID) associated with the network slice can be determined and provided for a communication service for an application by the end-user device or user equipment (UE). The request can be processed at a network slice provider (NSP) component, in which the network slice can be assigned to the NSC in response to the request by the NSC. The NSP further provides a user equipment (UE) route selection policy (URSP) comprising a traffic descriptor that includes the NSC Service ID to the NSC.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can operate to configure an application service to a network slice instance while preserving an application identity (ID) privacy. The UE receives network slice customer (NSC) Service ID from an NSC. A UE route selection policy (URSP) from a network slice provider (NSP), or network operator, includes the NSC Service ID in a traffic descriptor that associates a single network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI) with the NSC Service ID. The UE associates the application service to the network slice instance based on the NSC Service ID and the S-NSSAI.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and storage media are provided for user equipment (UE) that supports enhanced coverage and may operate with a voice centric usage setting or a data centric usage setting. When the UE's usage setting is set to voice centric, the UE may not operate in coverage enhancement (CE) mode B. When the UE's usage setting is set to data centric, then the UE may operate in CE mode B. The UE may indicate the UE's usage setting in an Attach or Tracking Area Update (TAU) request message, and a mobility management entity (MME) may indicate to an evolved NodeB that CE mode B is restricted or not restricted based on the usage setting.
