Abstract: Various example embodiments relate to rotating coalescers. One embodiment includes a housing comprising a first housing section having a blowby gas inlet structured to receive crankcase blowby gases from a crankcase. The housing further comprises an oil outlet. The rotating coalescer includes an endcap and filter media. The filter media is arranged in a cylindrical shape and is coupled to and positioned between the first housing section and endcap. The filter media is structured to filter the crankcase blowby gases passing through the filter media by coalescing and separating oils and aerosols contained in the crankcase blowby gases. The rotating coalescer includes a hollow shaft extending through the housing and positioned radially inside of the filter media. The hollow shaft forms a blowby gas outlet structured to route filtered crankcase blowby gases out of the housing. The rotating coalescer further includes a drive mechanism operatively coupled to the hollow shaft.

Abstract: A gas-liquid separator includes a housing. The housing includes an inlet structured to receive a blowby gas stream from a crankcase. a cleaned air outlet, and a liquid outlet. A cover is disposed downstream from the inlet and upstream from the liquid outlet. The cover includes a baffle disposed over the blowby gas stream flow path from the inlet. The blowby gas stream impacts the baffle and separates liquid and aerosol contained in the blowby gas stream. A flange extends substantially axially downward from a side of the baffle. The flange is tapered substantially axially downward forming an inner surface. The inner surface is structured to route the separated liquid toward the liquid outlet. The inner surface biases separated liquid away from shedding toward the cleaned air outlet.

The chimney extends from an upstream side of the wall and encompasses only a portion of a flow path between the inlet and the upstream side of the wall such that fluid can flow radially beyond the outer surface of the at least one chimney in the housing between the inlet and the wall.

Abstract: A separation assembly comprises a housing and a bearing plate assembly. The housing contains a turbine assembly and a rotor portion and defines a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The bearing plate assembly is adjustably attachable to the housing and defines a drive jet that directs fluid from the fluid inlet to the turbine assembly. The bearing plate assembly is mountable to the housing in multiple different orientations such that the relative position of the fluid inlet of the housing and the drive jet of the bearing plate assembly is adjustable.
