Abstract: Disclosed are a system and method for avoiding interference in direct communication between peers in a Wi-Fi network. A station (STA) desiring to communicate directly with another STA reports a change in interference to a function that determines a set of unsafe frequencies caused by interference near the STA. The function sends a report containing the set of unsafe frequencies to the AP for the STA. The AP then evaluates the severity of the interference and selects a set of RUs that are suitable for a TXOP for direct communication between the STA and another STA. The AP informs the STAs of the selected set of RUs, and the STAs communicate with each other using the selected RUs. If allowed, the STA sends feedback regarding the success of the communication to the AP.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for performing sticky client detection and/or remediation with machine learning are described. An example technique includes determining one or more parameters associated with roaming activity of a client station (STA) within a wireless network. The one or more parameters are evaluated with a machine learning model to predict a sliding boundary associated with the client STA, a first access point (AP) within the wireless network, and a second AP within the wireless network. Information associated with the sliding boundary is transmitted to the first AP. A frame including a request for the client STA to roam to the second AP and the information associated with the sliding boundary is transmitted to the client STA.

Abstract: Embodiments herein use a 5G node to provide supplemental power to an AMP STA to assist with Wi-Fi communication. Wi-Fi APs may not provide sufficient power wirelessly for the AMP STA to transmit data, or to transmit data as frequently as desired by the AMP STA. A controller can determine when an AMP STA is not receiving sufficient wireless power and provides instructions to a 5G node to provide supplemental power to the AMP STA. The AMP STA can use the power received from the 5G node to transmit Wi-Fi data to the AP.

Abstract: Embodiments herein describe BKDs that can transmit reply messages using different frequencies than the frequencies of wireless transmissions they receive which can reduce collisions in a Wi-Fi environment. In one embodiment, when transmitting power to be used by a BKD to transmit a reply message, an access point (AP) also includes an parameter that affects the frequency used by the BKD when transmitting its signal. For example, the AP can direct the BKD to use a frequency in a channel that is not used by other Wi-Fi Devices. The BKD can be equipped with a frequency filter that can shift the carrier frequency of the BKD response (compared to the carrier frequency of the energy-bearing signal) allowing the response signal to be transmitted on a different frequency than the one which was received.

Abstract: According to one or more embodiments of the disclosure, an example process herein may comprise: identifying a power budget threshold to maintain existing mesh backhaul links in a mesh tree; determining an estimated power budget among potential mesh backhaul links in the mesh tree; performing a channel evaluation of each candidate channel available to establish a backhaul link in the mesh tree; and reconfiguring the mesh tree, in response to a modified power budget for the mesh tree, wherein reconfiguring is based on the estimated power budget and the channel evaluation.

Abstract: Techniques for improved networking are provided. An indication that a mobile device is in a first region of a physical space is received, and one or more current exogenous factors are determined for the physical space. Positioning technique accuracy is predicted for each respective positioning technique of a plurality of positioning techniques by processing the indication of the first region and the one or more current exogenous factors using a machine learning model. A first positioning technique of the plurality of positioning techniques is selected based on the predicted positioning technique accuracies.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, from a plurality of user devices, a plurality of requests to transmit over a wireless fidelity (WiFi) network and in response to determining that the WiFi network cannot support the plurality of requests, determining that a first request of the plurality of requests should be supported by a cellular network. The method also includes instructing a first user device of the plurality of user devices that communicated the first request to perform transmissions corresponding to the first request over the cellular network.
