Abstract:
Disclosed is a tubular cutting element for axial reciprocal movement within an outer tubular sleeve. The cutting element has an elongate tubular body, having a proximal end, a distal end and a cutting tip. The tubular body is formed in a drawing operation and the cutting tip is formed in a milling operation. The tubular body may have a Rockwell C hardness of no more than about 40, and the cutting tip may have a Rockwell C hardness of at least about 50.
Abstract:
The capacitor has a monolithic anode and at least one anode lead wire extending from the anode. At least one sacrificial lead wire extends from the anode. A dielectric layer is on said anode and a cathode layer is on the dielectric layer. The anode lead wire is in electrical contact with the anode and a cathode lead is in electrical contact with the cathode.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method of cleaning greenhouse roofs mechanically to remove the accumulation of dust and grit. The method comprises at least one dust cleaning device moving over a soft roof The cleaning device is controlled to follow the irregular surface of the soft roof with limited pressure to avoid damage. The invention also provides a dust-cleaning system to remove dust and grit from the soft roof.
Abstract:
An improved method for forming a capacitor. The method includes the steps of: providing a metal foil; forming a dielectric on the metal foil; applying a non-conductive polymer dam on the dielectric to isolate discrete regions of the dielectric; forming a cathode in at least one discrete region of the discrete regions on the dielectric; and cutting the metal foil at the non-conductive polymer dam to isolate at least one capacitor comprising one cathode, one discrete region of the dielectric and a portion of the metal foil with the discrete region of the dielectric.
Abstract:
A transaction card assembly may include a transaction card and an auxiliary portion attached to the transaction card. The transaction card and the auxiliary portion may be formed to have a shaped edge that conforms with a trademark, a representation of a product, or other information printed or otherwise formed on the assembly. The auxiliary portion may be a functional item, such as a shoe horn or a luggage tag.
Abstract:
A pelvic splint for immobilizing and maintaining the annular integrity of the pelvis in the event of a pelvic ring fracture. The pelvic splint extends from about 5-10 cm above the iliac crest down to about the middle third of the thighs and substantially encircles the pelvis of the victim. The splint is then secured about the pelvis of the victim with two or more adjustable straps. The splint comprises a flexible casing having at least one pliable padding layer disposed therein and a plurality of flexible members individually disposed in pockets spaced apart about the casing. Once tightly secured around the pelvis by the adjustable straps, the splint conforms to the contours of the victim's pelvic area and stabilizes the pelvis by preventing lateral movement and constraining the pelvis in such a manner to preserve the annular integrity thereof. An associated method of stabilizing a pelvis is also disclosed.
