The invention relates to methods for producing annular moldings subjected to tensile or pressure loading from plastic by using an injection mold having a main cavity, at least one extra cavity is incorporated in the injection mold. The at least one extra cavity is joined to the main cavity by a connecting duct. The main cavity is filled with plastic melt so a flow line is formed in the vicinity of the connecting duct between the at least one extra cavity and the main cavity, wherein the cross section of the connecting duct is dimensioned such that, during the filling of the main cavity, no plastic melt flows into the extra cavity. The filling pressure is increased until plastic melt flows into the extra cavity; flow taking place through the flow line produced during the filling of the main cavity. Subsequently, the injection mold is opened and the molding removed.

The position detectors supply electrical signals, from which the position of the reference axis is ascertainable by means of a computer. The known devices of this species have an appreciable space requirement. This defect is eliminated by a particular structuring of the beam conduction and the additional use of special optical means. Beyond that, the measurement possibilities can be enlarged through additional emission of a second reference beam RS.

Method and device for ascertaining the spacing of the center line of curvature of a concave body surface 3a and 5a, which is curved in the shape of a conical envelope, in particular the spacing of the longitudinal center line of a turbine rotor bearing or the central opening in the rim of a turbine impeller wheel from a reference axis. A sharply focussed light beam L, which presets the reference axis, is emitted by a light beam transmitter 6 through the measurement space which faces the body surface 3a and 5a to be measured. This light beam impinges on the measurement field of a photo-electronic position detector rigidly fastened at a sensing device 7. The sensing device 7 is supported in stable manner and displaceably on the body surface 3a and 5a to be measured and is rotated about the center line of curvature of the body surface through displacement of its supported end in the direction of curvature on the body surface. The position detector in that case supplies electrical signals which correspond to the instantaneous position of the point of incidence of the light beam on the measurement field. The signals are detected for at least three measurement points situated at an angular spacing and fed into a computer C, which on the basis of these signals as well as further data entered into it computes the spacing of the center line of curvature from the reference axis. Correction data for the production of the state of alignment of these body surfaces are derived from the spacings ascertained for several body surfaces 3a and 5a.

The invention provides a device for monitoring pumps to detect danger of damage by cavitation. One object of the invention is to provide a device for this purpose which is simple in design, is readily handled, simple to attach to the pump to be monitored and permanently and straightforwardly indicates if there is cavitation and if so to what degree. These objects are to be attained by a monitoring device for use with a pump comprising a housing with rigid wall part capable of participation in vibratory motion and having an external sensing surface for application on the wall part on a pump housing, an inertial mass arranged in the housing, a piezoelectric vibration transducer held between the inertial mass and the wall part capable of participating in vibration, said transducer being adapted to respond to vibrations of the said wall part, and electric circuitry with a display able to be seen from a point outside the housing to indicate an AC output of the piezoelectric transducer in excess of a certain threshold.
