    摘要: An appliance system that includes an appliance and a turbo-chilling chamber is provided. In one embodiment, the turbo-chilling chamber for chilling a beverage within a beverage container or a foodstuff is operably engaged to an interior surface of the appliance and typically includes a rigid outer wall; a flexible inner wall defining a coolant chamber; and at least one coolant spaced between the rigid outer wall and flexible inner wall in the coolant chamber. The flexible inner wall defines a receiving space, accommodates various sized beverage containers or foodstuffs, and moves between a first position and a second position. The coolant within the coolant chamber is typically at higher than atmospheric pressure when the flexible inner wall is in the second position and a lesser pressure when the flexible inner wall is in the first position. The method of turbo-chilling a beverage container/beverage/foodstuff within the turbo-chilling chamber is also provided.

    摘要: A high efficiency condenser, in one embodiment, includes a phase change material in thermal contact with the condenser to assist in cooling the condenser during operation and particularly during pull-down operation to improve the cooling capacity of a compressor. In a preferred embodiment of such a system, a coaxial tube carrying the refrigerant through the condenser includes an inner conduit for the refrigerant and a coaxially arranged outer jacket with phase change material for extracting heat from the compressed refrigerant. In another embodiment, a secondary condenser is provided in a secondary coolant circuit and is in thermal contact with the primary condenser. Variable speed fans are associated with the condenser(s) and can be operated in the high speed (turbo) mode during pull-down of a refrigeration system for providing sufficient cooling capacity during a pull-down mode of operation.

The methods include dissolving a soluble food preservative in water to form a food preservation solution and delivering the food preservation solution to an atomizer which atomizes the food preservation solution to distribute the solution to food stored in the refrigerator. Also, described are embodiments of a food preservation solute dispenser for use in the methods. The food preservation solute dispenser is adapted for placement along an atomizer fluid supply path at a location where fluid will flow over the food preservation solute dispenser. The food preservation solute dispenser provides a food preservative to be dissolved in water along the fluid supply path as fluid flows over the food preservation solute dispenser. Food preservatives that can be dissolved and atomized include anti-microbial agents, such as citrus essential oils, vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants.

The ice level detection arm transitions from the ice sensing position to the ice harvest position for ice harvest by the ice maker. Opening the door disables ice harvest by the ice maker. Upon removal of the ice storage container the ice level detection arm transitions to the ice harvest position and disables ice harvest.
