摘要: The invention concerns a postage meter with an electrothermal printing device by means of which value indications and/or graphics are printed onto a postage item moved past it at a predetermined speed by the transfer of color particles in a graphic forming distribution from a carrier web (114), which carrier web is heated by means of a thermal print head in correspondence to the graphic forming distribution and is driven past the printing device, with a counterpressure element (116) standing oppositely to the thermal print head (110). As the counterpressure element a counterpressure roll (116) is provided which is movable in a direction perpendicular to the printing surface, which counterpressure roll is so yieldingly supported on a shaft arranged parallel to the printing ledge (112) of the thermal print head (110) that its contact face with the postage item can take on different angles to the printing ledge (112) in a plane containing the printing ledge (112) and the shaft (130).

摘要: A modular ink jet printer head has modules each having three spacers at their periphery in order to maintain a constant spacing between the modules. These spacers each have their base secured to the module and reside perpendicularly on a reference plane. The spacers of a module are brought into a detent engagement with at least those of one further, adjoining module. A base plate and two legs arranged at two first sides of the base plate form a U-shaped module carrier. Fastening elements for the modules are arranged at both second sides of the base plate and adjustment means are arranged at the legs. Offset stop edges for all modules are worked onto a side thereof parallel to one of the second sides of the base plate in the common opening of the base plates for the front edges of all modules. The reference edge of each module is brought into a detent engagement with an allocated stop edge of the base plate, so that a defined, lateral offset occurs between the modules.

摘要: A method for shipping electronically stored letter contents or communications and/or data on flat information carriers, particularly chip cards, requiring postal franking or prepaid postage, includes storing shipping data in at least one of a plurality of memory regions of the information carrier. The shipping data is read out with a read-write module. The shipping data is linked to a postage table being stored in memory, for calculating a postage value appropriate for shipment of the information carrier. An accounting or debit is made for the calculated postage value for the information carrier with a postage meter device. A postage imprint is printed on an item to be shipped. In an apparatus for carrying out the invention, the read-write module and the postage meter device are integrated into a unit.

摘要: Disclosed is a contact element for pressing into a hole of a printed circuit board. The contact element has a rod-shaped press-fit zone having an insertion region and an adjacent deformable region. The width of the deformable region is larger than the diameter of the hole, and the width of the insertion region is smaller than the diameter of the hole. The deformable region has a front region and a rear region that both have a closed opening, the openings being separated by a crossbar extending transversally to the insertion direction of the contact element. The crossbar extends at least in one part at a pointed angle of between 5 and 85 degrees to the insertion direction, and is thus subjected to an elastic force when the limbs are pressed together, creating a steadily increasing compression force for pressing the limbs against the wall of the opening.

摘要: An electrical operating unit for a motor vehicle with a shaft for retaining an emergency key is described, wherein the emergency key is movably arranged in the shaft between a storage position and a usage position. A locking mechanism is provided for locking the emergency key and the movable battery compartment lid.As a locking mechanism, the battery compartment lid itself or a locking element which is mechanically connected to it is provided, and the battery compartment lid is movable into a position as a result of which the emergency key can be locked in the usage position and/or the storage position. The movement of the battery compartment lid is used to move the battery compartment lid or a locking element which is formed on it between the locking and unlocking position.

摘要: The invention relates to an electric sub-assembly comprising conductor tracks on its upper and lower faces and non-plated holes (2), the hole (2) in the printed circuit board having predetermined dimensions (D2) and at least one sub-section of the contact pin (1) being oversized (D1.1>D2) in a defined manner in relation to the dimensions (D2) of the hole, in order to form a press connection. The length (l1) of the contact pin (1) that can be introduced is greater than the depth (l2) of the opening (2), so that the contact pin (1), once pressed into the hole, passes through the printed circuit board (2) and projects beyond the latter in the introduction direction.

摘要: In an arrangement and method for data processing in a mail shipping system, a document is supplied to the mail shipping system having information printed thereon identifying a recipient of the document. The printed information is scanned at a postage meter machine to identify the recipient. The postage meter machine is in communication with at least one personal computer. In the personal computer, the contents of various documents to be mailed using the mail shipping system are stored in respective data files, and can be searched according to the respective recipient and the current date. The mail contents are stored in the personal computer allocated to instructional data; such as shipping information identifying a carrier and/or cost center information for use in accounting purposes for charging the fee for shipping the document. The postage meter machine, by searching the memories in the personal computer, obtains the instructional data, and the instructional data are automatically entered into the postage meter machine, and are then used for producing the franking imprint and/or conducting an accounting routine. The amount of data which must be permanently stored in the postage meter machine is therefore significantly reduced.

摘要: An ink-jet printer head is composed of individual, stacked ink-jet printer modules operating according to the edge-shooter principle and equipped with plate-shaped piezoelectric actuators whose electrodes are contacted to leads of a ribbon conductor. The ink-jet printer head has a simplified structure and improved service properties and is composed of individual, identical ink-jet printer modules whose nozzle rows are arranged offset relative to one another and can be easily interchanged, because the carrier layer of the ribbon conductors enveloping the leads is reinforced and shaped in the region between neighboring ink-jet printer modules, so that the required spacing between the piezoactuators and between the nozzle rows of the ink-jet printer modules as well as an exact fixing thereof relative to one another are achieved. In this way, the ribbon conductors serve as a contact element, a spacer and an adjustment member for neighboring ink-jet printer modules. Complicated housing and front masks are thus eliminated and the number of components is reduced and adjustment outlay is largely avoided. The ink-jet printer head is provided for use in small, fast printers, wherein a large number of nozzles are required.

摘要: An ink jet print head has a middle part or plate sandwiched between two outer plates, with the middle plate being the only structured or profiled plate. The middle plate has different structures on its two opposite surfaces respectively facing the outer plates. Each of the different structures has recesses forming a group of non-concentric ink chambers. The ink chambers of each of these different structures are respectively spaced from one another in the x, y and z directions. Nozzle channels leading to a single nozzle row are fashioned on one of the two surfaces of the middle part. The ink chambers of one of the groups are directly connected to the nozzles by respective nozzle channels while the ink chambers of the other group are connected to the nozzles by respective nozzle channels and by respective channels extending through the middle part.

摘要: A thermal transfer printer has a thermal print head with a number of thermal printing elements, operated by power electronics and controlled by a control unit to print an imprint on a medium by thermally transferring ink from an inking ribbon to the medium by energization of selected printing elements by the control unit. The inking ribbon and the medium are movably disposed between the print head and a counter roller with the inking ribbon being unwound from a supply reel and wound onto a take-up reel. In a method and apparatus for monitoring usage of the inking ribbon, the approaching end of the ribbon is identified, either by optically reading a mark on the inking ribbon or by monitoring the amount of ribbon on the supply reel or the take-up reel, and the contents of a memory, which may be a mechanical memory or an electronic memory, are altered to indicate the completion of one pass of the inking ribbon. The inking ribbon is then rewound from the take-up reel to the supply reel for re-use. Before beginning re-use of the inking ribbon, the memory is interrogated and the usage history information is obtained therefrom. The thermal energy with which subsequent impressions are made is then controlled by the control unit dependent on the degree of usage of the inking ribbon.
